Coach Wilcher and Company are right down the street aren't they? Hey, can't be any shadier than paying to send a bunch of Catholic high schoolers to play a game in Ireland...

Also, you could look into Billy Taylor's Get Back Up organization in Detroit.

We work with several organizations at work, but our group's task force has done a number of things through Variety Detroit and the Children's Charities Coalition (part of which is CARE House of Oakland County). Actually, last month, a group downtown sent several kids to the Pistons-Pacers game at the Palace, which was awesome and an early Christmas gift for about 20 kids.

St. Louis Center just west of AA is a great charity that Coach Beilein and his wife are regular supporters of. St. Louis Center partners with UM on many small charity projects. I used to work at the center and brought kids to UM often for events.
SLC is a home for physically/mentally/emotionally disabled youth and adults males. Many are very severe. Some are placed privated by their families while others are wards of the state. It is a really amazing place filled with workers who basically live their lives in service of others, and with residents who, when you peal back the layers of disabilities that have shuned them from others and from experiences that most of us consider to be the most important experiences in life, are good kids / adults with real life issues no different than anyone else.
A quick google search would give you their contact info.
Well done! Thanks for doing this for whatever charity you choose.

since this one is pretty much off the board at this point. Great ideas all around, though; I'm sure whoever gets to go will be thrilled.
