Scout lists The Opening 7on7 rosters.
Not sure of the accuracy (Laquon tweeted Shane is his QB the other day.) but Scout has posted a listing of The Opening’s 7on7 rosters: here
M recruits seem to be spilt up:
Shane QB’s the “Land Sharks”.
McQuay, McCray, and Butt are on “Alpha Talon”, QB'd by Swoopes.
Kendall Fuller and Derrick Green are with Cooper Bateman on “Super Bad”.
Laquon is on “Alpha Speed”, QB is Hackenberg.
Jourdan Lewis, Alvin Bailer are with Max Browne on “Field Generals”.
I'll have what you're having, THAT would be nice!!
This obsessive stuff about some event called "The Opening" is getting pretty ridiculous. Surely you people have something better to occupy your mind on this 100 degree Saturday.
You're assuming all of us are in the Midwest. Hell, it's barely 90 where I am.
For the record, I wasn't ripping your idea, just making a twitter joke. I agree that it's about time to start focusing on 2014 recruitment since we only have a handful of spots left and with another topic to discuss we'll all just speculate on who is going to decommit and who we can get to replace him.
Shane and LT's teams are stacked.
every team is stacked.
I think Shane got hosed on Wr's..IMO
He's got a couple good ones...but he might have the worst overall crew of wideouts.
Ummm...defense wins championships?
He faces a team with Hargreaves, Willis and Woodard. It may be tough for his recievers to find space against those 3. Jump ball the the TE all day.
With Taquan Mizzell and OJ Howard, Shane could have the best combination of TE and RB though for a 7-on-7 competition. Wish he would have gotten Treadwell on his team though.
Running backs aren't very helpful in 7-on-7...
but I thought Norfleet was Shane's favorite receiver in 7-on-7s last year? And Mizzell looked really good in the 7-on-7 at the Rivals Challenge a couple weeks ago.
Regardless, most routes they run are short routes and it's one-hand touch. I'd take a good WR over a good RB every day of the week for 7-on-7.
That's because Norfleet is equal parts RB and slot receiver. Deveon Smith or Wyatt Shallman, who very well make great college running backs, wouldn't be anywhere as effective in 7 on 7.
But that was my original point. Mizzell fits that role even better than Norfleet. He is like having extra receiver versus having to play with a more traditional RB like Derrick Green who doesn't have the same speed, hands, or ability to run routes. And that may provide some familiarity for Shane.
Yea, depends on the style of the RB
Go watch Norfleet tape from last year...
For those that don't know, MI and OH are the only 2 HSAA that won't let the kids pad up here. So Taco is the only one in a shirt today
I think he meant for the DL, but this probably also means that David Dawson and Steve Elmer can't compete in 1-on-1s this weekend along with Taco Charlton.
Didn't feel like starting another thread for this, but new optimism for our WR depth this fall:
Good news out of #michigan offseason workouts. Hearing Jehu chesson timed 4.4 in the 40 and Amara Darboh timed 4.53 at 218 lbs
I really think they are both going to be able to contribute this fall.
There has never really been any concerns with his speed, but I'm curious to see how well he can catch the ball in traffic.
I like to see that post about 40 times. Does anyone know why LTT declined his offer to the opening?
He's playing for Team USA in the U-19 Football World Championships.
Actually, Team USA is playing in the gold medal game tonight against Canada. If I had the choice, I probably would have made the same one. The Opening is probably a more fun event, but the chance to play real football for 2 weeks for USA and a gold medal will only be better for him in the long run.
Thanks man
RT @TheOpening2012 Shane Morris to Levonte Whitfield again #LandSharks leads 12-0 over #VaporTalon #THEOPENING
Michigan QB commit Shane Morris is on fire in game one. Making all the right throws.
