OL Decommit Rumors
Scout had an article yesterday about a 2013 offensiven lineman commit possibly wavering. I have a guess on who it might be but wont speculate on the board.
PANIC!?!?!?!
[ED:BISB - Yeah, no. Terrible headline is terrible]
[ED #2:BISB- Gonna lock this for now, pending someone who knows more than I. I've been informed that Scout didn't pull this out of their ass, but that this isn't the full story, and that nothing has happened. Guesses/predictions/Go-to-hells at this point help nothing.
I hope the full story comes out on this at some point. Quite intriguing.
For some reason I'm reminded of the Chinese curse: "may you all live in interesting times."]
It was labeled as "premium membership grabbing post" in Scout and has since been locked.
My understanding was that when the long snapper committed one of the OL asked why we recruited 6 OL instead of 5 as was told him. The coaches explained the long snapper position to him and all was clear.
The answer is No.
Ugly speculations don't help anybody.
But this is the kind of thing that pops up multiple times, and I'm out of pocket for a while. Instead I edited to make clear how dumb the idea was.
Some serious BS from Scout
I hate the summer months for recruiting.
Rivals mentioned this as well but made no attempt to mislead. They were unwilling to let on who the rumors were about but made it clear that the commit was still solid.
Agree that this should be deleted. Unless someone is going to explain in detail what this is about and why no one should worry, then all this post to a link that 99% of us can't get to does is fuel the flames of rumor and speculation which doesn't do anyone any good. Please delete.
In other news, Ohio starting RB Jordan Hall had surgery for a torn ligament in his foot yesterday... per twitter via 11W.
My foot went numb reading that.
I'm sorry, I disagree strongly with many of the posts on here because it seems clear that many of the people posting didn't actually see all of the referenced pay information from multiple sites. Without seeing the whole picture, this is slightly unfair.
Let me start off by saying I am no Scout supporter by any means. Many things that go on over there rub me the wrong way.
Anyway, without getting into super secret pay info (seriously? I'm shaking my own head as I write this), every site involved handled the situation fine and made some judgment calls. First of all, this isn't just random speculation from the sites, there really was some apprehension from a recruit. Rivals reported this first, but didn't name names, and just said if you hear something about this don't worry about it, it was resolved. Then I can only assume this led to even more speculation despite the report that everything was fine. Subscription buying headline or not, Scout decided to name names and smooth everything over. They added a little more to the story, but also cautioned that it was just yet another misunderstanding in this overexposed era of internet recruiting.
If you want to question putting the story as a front page link, that's fine, But acting like this was just manufactured news akin to saying "Is Shane Morris wavering? Look inside...No! He's as solid as ever and moreso!" is not accurate. This incident seems to have actually happened. Regardless, everything was smoothed over, so relax.
What do you expect? Scout is a business and they'll do what they can to make money. When you see a headline like this, just ignore it....you can come here or the twittersphere and find the info.
People still pay for "premium" information? Suckers.
