OT - Jhonny Peralta with the walkoff!!!
I was thinking of starting a thread asking about speculation as to why the Tigers have been so dissapointing this year. That is still a good question in my opinion, but first, let's be happy about this victory! Maybe this will get the Tiggers back on track.
I SEE YOU JHONNY
LOOK OUT PERALTA!!!
Tribe wins 6-3.
hehe.
I wouldn't worry about Tigers games. I'm not sure mgobloggers are big into DVRing Tigers' games. We just want to know if they won.
1. Tivo a game
2. Read sports blogs until you see the result
3. Bitch if your team won, erase the game if they lost
If you Tivo a sporting event, stay away from sports websites. If you Tivo Mad Men or Game of Thrones, stay away from entertainment websites.
I LOVE his call of the home run
Literally didn't say a word for 62 seconds. Silent schadenfreude.
Oh my God, I loved it. I'm out of state and was watching the game on the MLBNetwork, which had the Chicago feed. I had to put up with that crap for 9 innings but those 62 seconds of silence made it worth it.
This is arguably the best analysis or play-by-play of anything that Harrelson has ever done, much in the same way that his best work as a General Manager back in the day was done at Chicago area golf courses.
*unarguably
You can put it on the booooaaarrdd!!! Yesss!!
I found the Hawk Harrelson Soundboard on CSN's website.
It allows you to reenact his commentary of this home run perfectly by literally just not clicking anything for a full minute and two seconds.
Reminds me of Spielman after Avery made the game-clinching pick
Hawk's tears are like candy to me.
Way to go Jhonnny. Now that's a memorable first homer of the year.
Another excellent outing by Smyly. Lets hope that Max, has a good outing tomorrow.
It has not been the best start, but let's consider that they're a game above .500 with a potent lineup that hasn't warmed up. There's still only one everday player above .300 (was Jackson until last night, but he fell and Miggy creeped up to .302) and the number 2 starter has been out for pretty much the season.
There will come a time - i'm guessing as the weather warms - when getting through the middle of that order will be a challenge for even the best pitcher, and the lineup will present danger before and after that too.
The upside is that Drew Smyly looks like the real deal. We'll have to see how he does when guys have seen him a few times, but he certainly has the tools.
It's a long summer, and the only goal is to win a division that we're 1.5 games back in after a disappointing April. Always better to get hot as the season progresses than start on a tear and slow down ... unless you're the '84 Tigers and win the division in the first 40 games.
With Max going today it was a big win last night. Hey Max, lets give the boys a chance today.
