OT- Tebow Does it Again
It makes no sense. Down 10-0 in the fourth quarter with 45 yards passing and a pick. The game was over multiple times. The announcers were stunned. I am in shock. I love every minute of it. TEBOW!
[ED:BISB - Gonna go ahead and lock this one at this point. Broncos/Bears may or may not have been too OT... but the role of Jesus Christ in football is probably a bridge too far]

By which you mean the Broncos defense and Matt Prater does it again. 52 other guys on the team.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
It's a bit tongue in cheek. I yelled at my friends, "I can't believe Tebow hit that 59 yard field goal" and "Tebow just stripped the ball from Barber, I can't believe it." I jokingly asked how pissed Von Miller was that Tebow gets all the love when he's playing out of this world. It's pretty nuts though this streak of games they've put together since Tebow started playing.

LOVE MY NAME!
December 11th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
like 45 yards on 4-20 passing in the first three quarters. He was something like 16-20 for 190 yards in the fourth and OT. Power of Christ!!!!
December 11th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
the power of the prevent defense strikes again!
December 11th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
As I always say, the only thing the prevent D prevents is victory.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
Where was Christ in the first three quarters?
December 11th, 2011 at 7:42 PM ^
works in mysterious ways.

December 11th, 2011 at 7:46 PM ^
Most mysterious of all is that he apparently cares about American football.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
but loves "American" football and cricket. Look it up. I think it's in the old testament.
December 11th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
But it is on the internet, so you're good.
December 11th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
God cares about you and where your heart is. If you cna live out your faith on the football field then yes God cares about football because He cares about you. Tebow does that and epitmoizes that. His faith is unwavering and He is turning heads with every game and opening eyes with every win.
December 11th, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
So I guess he doesn't care as much about all the guys on the losing team? Or are they just not devout enough? The Colts must be full of sinners.....
December 11th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
I'm not going to get into a religious debate on MGoBlog. Believe what you want and take it for what you want. I'm not going to try to sway your opinion.
December 11th, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
His question is a valid one...
The Lions must've started going to church this season.
December 11th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
And since Tebow was only 1-2 with the Bronco's last year, I guess he had stopped going for a while?
December 11th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
The point is not that Tebow (or Denard, or religious people in general) are thanking God for causing every individual touchdown and win and everything else. Sure, there are some that think that God has a hand in literally everything (which, I mean, if you believe in God then you don't believe in the idea that he could be limited to one football game at a time) but in general people are thanking God for their abilities. Not for being a meddlypants in every minute of every game.
December 11th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
Sure, maybe. But if so, why have I never heard an athlete thank god/jesus after they lose? Their abilities are still their abilities. Why is it only after wins?
December 11th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
because no one is interviewing them. They still do it. I see it on twitter, for instance.
December 11th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
"Thank you for giving me the ability to fumble that football" sounds a little silly. Even Job didn't thank God for letting Satan beat the shit out of him.

Jim Schwartz is a strong Catholic!

Sounds like divine caprice. I just can't predict this guy.

He was late showing up.

This is why I'm not afraid of Urban, it was all Tebow. Say what you want about him, but the man just wins!
December 11th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
I'm about to become a devoted Christian after seeing him win like this, jesus christ. Oops I mean, tim tebow.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:50 PM ^
If you didn't beleive in God before, Tim Tebow just made you
December 11th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
I figured the game was over until I got back and found out the bears lost. I'm impartial to both teams, but man, this is an epic fail for the bears.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
team has really picked it up -- espcially the defense. The question is whether the defense would play this well if they had a good offense. This is proof that football, this physical game, is so much affected by the attitude of the players -- the defense's state of mind and its belief that they could win only if the score is low.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Tebow has risen again.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Marion barber choked twice. He will not be well liked tomorrow.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:30 PM ^
Barber was just a vessel for Bear failure. Tebow's will be done.
December 11th, 2011 at 8:48 PM ^
TEBOW WILLS IT!

December 11th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
You now realize that everytime Tebow does something good, it's a plus for Urban Meyer. And thus Ohio. I am now officially cheering against Tim Tebow (and pretty much every QB that came from a spread system).
And good lord, their kicker hit a 59 yard FG to tie the game at end of regulation, and Marion Barber fumbled the ball on the Bronco's 30 yard line to give the game winning 52 yard FG to Denver. It's kind of ridiculous.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
If Dallas wins today then we look really good for a playoff spot. Thanks Tebow and last play of the game non-face mask calling ref!
December 11th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
More like Marion Barber helped Tebow do it again...
December 11th, 2011 at 7:30 PM ^
Kudos to Tebow, he played one hell of a game... I mean 4th quarter. Having said that, I'm officially convinced that Tebow's whole Jesus thing is a ploy to hide the fact that he sold his soul to the devil. Or maybe he paid off Marion Barber. I haven't decided yet. Either way, not cool.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:30 PM ^
Tim Tebow is like a starting pitcher that wins 20 games with an 8.00 ERA.
December 11th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
wins are an even more irrelevant measure of QB success than they are of a starting pitcher's success.
I'd say that Tebow's W/L record is roughly as relevant to on-the-field success as Weiss' Decided Schematic Advantage (c)

The fucking guy just wins. As much shit as I'm gonna take for saying it, I'm a HUGE fan of Tebow. I recently bet my father a good bottle of Bourbon that he wins a super bowl within the next 5 years.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:34 PM ^
for that good bottle of bourbon. God can't even make that happen.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:37 PM ^
Care to make a little wager? Tim Tebow just wins, that's all he's ever done.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:40 PM ^
Betting is neat!
I bet you a million dollars he doesn't!!!
December 11th, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
I would absolutely bet you on this. A SUPER BOWL? You have to be out of your mind. The Broncos won after Barber gave it away twice, Prater made a freakishly long field goal, and Cutler and Forte were out to begin with. Yes, this is clearly a Super Bowl bound team. 'Tebow Time' ends next week against the Pats.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:44 PM ^
I'm telling you that in the next 5 years Tebow will win a Super Bowl, will it be this year? No but he's got Denver sitting at 8-5 and they're gonna get better.
December 11th, 2011 at 7:46 PM ^
The bet doesn't count if he wins it as a backup sitting on the bench, because that's where he'll be in five years
December 11th, 2011 at 7:47 PM ^
once they get a real quarterback.

February 5, 2012 (AP): Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos to a miraculous 2-0 overtime victory Sunday over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.
The winning points were scored with 2:37 remaining in the fourth overtime, when San Francisco punter Andy Lee stepped on the end line while fielding a snap. The resulting safety gave Denver the victory.
Tebow was voted Most Valuable Player of the game. He completed 4 of 43 passes for 37 yards and carried the football 37 times for 41 yards. He also threw two interceptions.
The game featured several NFL records, among them those for longest game (117:23), most punts by both teams combined (47) and fewest first downs by a winning team (2).
