Capital One Bowl Live Tweeting Meeting
The Capital One Bowl did something pretty cool tonight and live tweeted their meeting. No surprise here but seems we have a great worst case scenario as Michigan appears to be their first B1G choice.

Capitol One would be fun, but I still have my heart set on the Sugar Bowl. Fingers crossed.

Nothing says "Michigan Football is back" like being disappointed in a Captiol One Bowl bid.

Just re-read my post, and I think I worded it poorly. I guess "disappointed" isn't the feeling. I'm just hoping for more. These kids deserve a BCS game after all the shit they've been through.

No, your post was fine. I feel the same way. If we don't get the BCS invitation, I will be disappointed for the team--not disappointed in them. They have definitely earned that Sugar Bowl trip and I want to see them get their reward. But if it doesn't happen, I'll be just as proud to cheer them on in the Capitol One Bowl.

Not going to lie, but I'll be disappointed with the Capital One Bowl considering all the BCS talk the past two weeks.

Personally would not mind facing a SEC team if we do not get the BCS bid. These kids deserve a chance at redemption against that conference down South. I haven't been to Orlando in forever.
Though, I've never been to NoLA either.

Though we have often been the poster boy for what is slow and stodgy, we have an excellent track record against the SEC. We really have no need for redemption against them . . . .

I meant after last year, losing to Mississippi State.

Wonder what the monetary difference is between Capital One Bowl and Sugar Bowl?
November 27th, 2011 at 7:51 PM ^
17 Million to 4.6 Million
November 27th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
Ouch. That's a steep drop off.

As the conference. Teams used to get 2/13 share of the bowl payout, and 1/13 of every other bowl payout. (1/13 going to the conference). Even if you didn't go to a bowl you still got 1/13 of every bowl a Big Ten team went to. Now maybe 1/14? But the pool goes down if there isn't a second BCS bid, and obviously a better bowl is a bit more profitable.

I'm guessing if we play in the capital one bowl it'd be against arkansas, that'd be a really tough matchup

Arkansas may go to the Cotton Bowl. We may get Georgia.

I would guess this means they'd jump on Michigan if we don't hop into the top 14.

Is it bad I would rather go to Orlando than New Orleans because I want to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter?
November 27th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is awesome. It is ridiculously expensive to get into Universal Studios though. My problem is that I already stayed in Orlando this year to see the second to last space shuttle launch. I'd rather go somewhere I have never been to. And the whole, it's a better bowl thing.
