ACE: Mitch McGary to Decide Next Month
Per Chris Balas of The Wolverine, 2012 five-star big man Mitch McGary will decide next month. Sam Webb said on in radio show in the last couple days that the sooner McGary decided, the better Michigan's chances, so I'd take this as a good sign. To me, it looks like this one will come down to the Wolverines and Duke. Either way, it's clear John Beilein and his staff have made a huge impression on McGary and his family (the whole staff visited them this week), and just to see the basketball team as a major factor down to the wire on such a big-time recruit is a great sign for the program.

That is what I was speculating as well. It would be nice to see two big guys like that on the floor at the same time with Smot at the 3. That would be a big line up.

This also might depend on Horford's development. From what I hear, Horford is more of a 5 than a 4, so if he turns into a starter-level player by then (which would be his junior year) then we might see Morgan and Horford hold down the 5 and McGary playing only the 4. That's probably best case scenario.

I ate lunch at Pizza House over the saturday of the ND game and the whole basketball team and coaches came in for lunch in the room I was sitting in. Didn't say anything as I felt bad about taking a picture with Tim Hardaway Jr. at Gameday, but Horford has really filled out/lived in the weightroom this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Morgan split at the 5, dude's swoll (to quote No Homo)

Well, I guess you could say our staff has made a belien for this recruit.

He is SO important to this program and would elevate it to a higher level immediately. It's apparent the coaches completely understand the gravity of a player like McGary at Michigan. He seems like a great kid too who would represent Michigan incredibly well.

isn't he like 6'10" or so? I guess I am wondering why he couldn't play the 5 more often since jordan morgan seems a bit undersized for a center. is he just be a natural 4 in belein's offense (i heard he can shoot somewhat decently)

I'm sure the terms 4 or 5 will be pretty worthless if he steps on the court for MICH, and he will play "either or," depending on the situation. I guess I feel our bigs are that talented.
