UMGoBlog Chat with Shane Morris
love the last comment on that
Gotta love the passion he has for Michigan. He sounds like the kind of kid we want representing the football team and the University.
I agree with you. He represents himself far beyond his age. I especially like the fact that he said he would never be totally happy with his game. That shows that he will be one of those player/athletes that put everything they have into what they want to do. I can't wait to see him in Maize and blue! Thanks for the thread!
His passion for Michigan and his early commit can only lead to good things for next years class.
I am officially in love with Shane Morris.
But Fred Jackson is a God.
Shane is just like Tom Brady, but with speed!!
He sounds like if any of us had the chance to commit and play football at Michigan.
The more I hear about Morris whether it's interviews or highlight videos or combines, the more I like this kid. And I really liked the kid the first time I saw his highlight video. Has he said anything about whether he's going to early enroll (way to early to ask that?). If we didn't have Devin, I think he could challenge for the starting QB spot in his first two years (he'd probably red shirt).
Drew Stanton, who by the way is a career looser.
"Looser" than what? Oh, you meant "LOSER." Never mind...
to say I am starting to love a certain high school sophomore?
Yes? Oh well, get over it.
Too soon or not soon enough?
Coach Jackson doing work!! Love that guy
Interesting tweet from him today too:
Ranked #2 QB in the whole Elite 11! And got strongest arm at the event! Back again for the Nike Camp, I'm still not donee! #GoBlue!
Is there any doubt that next years class will be filled with offensive studs?
i'm not seeing any correlation between that tweet and offensive recruiting in 2013
I presume he will start recruiting elites to join him.
and i'd imagine that great receivers and backs would usually prefer to play with a great QB (hence the oft referenced Zeke Pike / Dorial Green-Beckham correlation).
No doubt about this. Big time offensive players want to play on a team with a great QB, be it receivers (especially), backs or linemen. Recruits know that having a top QB gives them the best shot at winning championships and they'll want to be in the same class as one.
Have a legit shot to be the number one rated recruit in the country in 2013. He's the rare recruit who is already super skilled, and who has a limitless upside.
I don't think so. The recruiting sites are generally very biased toward players in the south.
But this appears to be the first class in recent memory, that openly talks of a National Championship, and I love it. I think that's what has been missing more than anything, is that level of realizing who the hell we are. This is Michigan, you need to return to the point that if we aren't winning a NC, then the season is a failure.
As a Michigan alum I'm obviously going to hope for a NC every year, but this University has had a lot of great seasons that didn't involve one. The goal should be a NC but I will never consider a Rose Bowl team or a Big Ten Title team to be a failure.
We've had a sad history if that's the metric.
I think we've got ourselves a special one here. With his talent and attitude, the sky is the limit for this kid. Good to see that we will be going back to being Quarterback U and putting a lot of guys into the NFL. That was probably the toughest thing to give up when we went to the RR spread as exciting as that was at times.
so if our starter is gonna be a lefty, do we start grooming our biggest O-lineman for right tackle? Is there even any difference in playing between LT and RT?
Keep in mind that it will be 3 or 4 years until he sees the field. He still has his junior and senior years of high school, if Devin gets a medical redshirt he'll be here three more seasons, and between Bellomy and anyone we land this year (Kiel) it could be 5 years.
There is a big difference but you do not take a kid that is perfect for the Left Tackle position and move him to RT because the mechanichs are all different. You play your best linemen at the position they have the most ability to play. A guy like Jake Long would have stayed at LT even with a left handed QB.
Now we need Braylon 2.0 to complement Shane Morris
Shane Morris: “Yes I try to pattern my game after quarterbacks such as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. They’re as close to being perfect as you can get at the position and they choose push themselves everyday like their rookies again.”
>they choose push themselves everyday like their rookies again.
How sad it is that the universities academic standards fallen so low as to recruit football players with such a mediocre grasp of the english language and it's spelling.
It seems Harbaugh was right after all.

dude stop trolling, what does the UM have to do with him making a gramatical mistake...it could have been the reporter anyways
Hey dumbass, unless this was a written interview, which I highly doubt, then it was the reporter's fault.

Also, it's "university's". And for that matter you used "it's" incorrectly. Maybe you should go back to school.
You also left out "have". "The University's academic standards have fallen..."
Also, there's nothing wrong with a "mediocre" grasp of the English language (the E should be capitalized). Not having achieved fluency seemed like a prerequisite for my GSIs in the Math, Phyics, and Statistics departments.
