Best blazer/tie/slacks/shoes/ combo.

Hope he's logging those steps on Fitbit!!!

05/20/2013 - 11:32am Fellas, you need to get up on Miguel.

If your lady likes R-&-B, then you'll definitely want "Adorn" on the playlist. Up-and-coming singer who writes and produces his own music (fairly rare in r-&-b), but he definitely needs to work on the vert.

03/03/2013 - 7:56pm NYC in the house! Professor Thoms.

Go Blue! Holler!

07/22/2010 - 7:23am Wataru Misaka

From Wikipedia:

Wataru "Wat" Misaka (Japanese: 三阪 亙 Misaka Wataru) (born December 21, 1923) is a retired American basketball player. He was the first player of Asian descent and the first non-white person to play in the National Basketball Association (then known as the Basketball Association of America).

07/08/2010 - 5:07pm Here's what Bennett said when speaking to his BigEast audience:
It won't be easy to go and win this game on the road, especially against a team desperate to get off to a good start. But UConn is a veteran team that's ready for this kind of challenge, and it was simply a better team at the end of last season than the Wolverines were. If the game is close, expect Michigan to start doubting itself again. I give an ever-so-slight nod to UConn pulling a very mild upset.

The prose is slightly more pro-UConn on his BigEast blog, but that's not to say he's not raising a good point-- I'm a bit worried about what might happen if UConn jumps out to a lead or comes from behind.

06/29/2010 - 10:11am The way we've been playing these past few years...

...they could start Satan McLucifer out there and I wouldn't care as long as he remains academically eligible, abides by the rules, and helps us win.

02/04/2010 - 11:45pm When I was about 14...

...I stole several porn magazines from the local Crown Books store. I would've bought them had they let me.

01/06/2010 - 7:57pm An idea for appeasing the Angry Michigan Hating God:

We need a UFR for this game. Offense & defense, all the charts (Moorheadchart?)-- the whole shebang. I'm not superstitious, but tell me that doesn't sound like a nice prelude to a reversal of misfortune.

01/05/2010 - 10:08am We're lucky Brandon wasn't hired in '07 or earlier:

Just imagine what our S&C program would look like under Mike Gittleson w/ the Domino's hookup.

11/18/2009 - 10:17am Of course not...

...but now there's no ambiguity.

11/18/2009 - 10:03am To quote Whitney Houston, the famous American R & B singer,...

11/11/2009 - 9:59am Les may or may not be a "horses's ass"...

...but ain't nothin' wrong with workin' your mullett.

11/07/2009 - 3:51pm However long it takes Brian to get home from the game

That's my guess. We should all invest in a remote kill-switch for Brian. That way, he can cut on MGoCurfew mode as soon as the play clock hits zero for bad home losses.

11/02/2009 - 7:18pm Misopogon, please stop!

I can't handle the truth.

Seriously-- excellent read.

10/30/2009 - 4:02pm Excellent read

Thanks for posting the online version.

10/28/2009 - 7:19pm The altercation was after the came...

...but it resulted from what happened before kick-off.

10/26/2009 - 8:43pm From Dr. Saturday, ...

...courtesy of ESPN:

"In the beginning of the game, we were warming up, running on the field and [Clausen's] out there chirping and talking all this trash and he pushed, I think, Justin Jarvis. He just pushed him for no reason, and I just looked at him like, 'What are you doing? Who do you think you are?

"He's just sitting there still talking and then afterward, he was trying to be all friendly. I was like, 'I don't want to hear it now.'

"It just rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like what he did. It just seemed like he was a little fake toward the end of the game because they won. I know if it was the other end of the stick, he'd probably be saying the same thing to me."

I can understand Gunnell's position although I don't know who comes out of that exchange looking better.

10/26/2009 - 8:26pm I would have expected either that response...

...or perhaps "Concentrate and ask again."

10/26/2009 - 7:39pm It brings a whole new meaning to the term...

10/26/2009 - 7:29pm What was our selection against ND?

I kinda wish we'd given ND the opera music and done something a bit more on the crunk side for Delaware State.

10/26/2009 - 7:03pm Dollars to donuts...

...that Sheridan doesn't even start himself in NCAA 10 when playing with UM. But I still got love for him.

10/26/2009 - 6:41pm On a related note... my mgoBrooklynites (if there are any): I'd love to get a critical mass of us together in the borough of BK for game-watching. Holler if there's any interest.

10/16/2009 - 5:56pm Delaware State Connection?

It seems like posters have been especially reckless in the days leading up to the Delaware State game. I wonder if fans' typical preoccupation with worthier opponents just isn't there this week...leading to all this craziness.

Just an observation.

09/30/2009 - 6:52am 2007 OSU - Michigan

I saw the first quarter (and our only score) but had to attend a wedding that day.

09/27/2009 - 9:50am I'm a Wiki-freak, ...

...but I never would've thought "stinger" would've been on there; I didn't think it was that common of a term. Thanks for asking. Having never played organized sports, I was clueless.

09/25/2009 - 8:52am I love witnessing a good negbang...

...when it's deserved (i.e., highly inflammatory/trollish/etc). I kind of wish they ended with a Sandman-type character coming out to police sirens, doing a little tap dance, and escorting the negee of the internet for a bit (shame on you if you've never seen Showtime at the Apollo).

That said, I find far too many posts/replies on here that get negged for reasons- in my opinion- that are outside the scope of what Brian created the down arrow for.

All I do is +1 posters that were unjustly negged. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it- I'm not trying to be the positive police- but I think its a way to reduce the chance that we alienate people who primarily come here because they love Michigan sports.

09/20/2009 - 5:54pm PS3

I just bought the new PS3 slim a couple of weeks ago. It was a tougher choice (360 v. PS3) when the PS3 was $100 more, but the new slimmer design and lower price point sold me. I'm a very casual gamer, though; serious folks might have a more informed opinion.

09/10/2009 - 6:36am These are ill, dude.

Keep up the good work.

09/09/2009 - 4:51pm To be fair...

...I heard a soundbite on WTKA this morning- an ad for Cowherd's show- where he was going on about how RR will get it done in Ann Arbor if he's given four years. To paraphrase: he said RR is a proven winner (i.e., won at WVU) and that he'll be a thorn in OSU's side because he's aggressive and Tressel is conservative (He also defended Weis, saying he won Superbowls). I'd like to think we'll be more than just a thorn in Tressel's side, but he caught me off guard with all the positivity, to be honest. He may not like the fans but it sounds like he likes the coach.

09/08/2009 - 6:04pm I'm yelling "Sausage!" everytime his foot touches the ball.

09/08/2009 - 5:47pm Another problem with watching football on TV... that- in my opinion- broadcasts pay too much attention to offensive alignments and you don't see much focus on the secondary, which is key. They break to the sidelines or booth in between plays when it would be great to see what's going on pre-snap. The offense gets to see where/how the defense lines up but TV broadcasts don't lend themselves very well to that.

09/08/2009 - 5:41pm I'm not gonna lie...

...I bought "Football for Dummies" some years ago. It's a decent read. Anyone that's ever played football would be bored-to-death by it but a casual observer of the game would probably find it pretty informative. There's a lot of useless stuff (e.g., "The 10 greatest coaches of all time") but it does a fairly good job of breaking down different offensive/defensive alignments and what types of situations call for different types of plays. It spells a lot of stuff out for you that Chris Brown (of Smart Football) would take for granted that his audience is familiar with. I'd only recommend it if you're a real novice, though. Reading it and playing NCAA Football was helpful for me.

09/07/2009 - 12:55pm Now that's what you call, "swole."

09/06/2009 - 2:19pm Let he who hath not murdered someone cast the first stone.

See how quickly I silenced y'all?

08/31/2009 - 9:05am I also laughed at the "daylight to nighttime" remark.

Did you play football for U of Alaska or Michigan, Toney?

08/30/2009 - 7:04pm Is there typically a large crowd there?

Or is it laid-back?

08/30/2009 - 6:49pm I have a new TV coming the night before.

My very first HDTV, and it's being delivered the evening before. I'll probably be running checks to make sure I have everything set up right before kickoff.

08/30/2009 - 4:40pm Go play intramurals, brother!!!

I completely forgot about's still good for a laugh.

08/30/2009 - 4:36pm Tarnishing his legacy, IMO.

But I also think that by staying silent now, he's also undermining any potential influence he could have in the future if/when RR turns things around (and I trust that he will).

08/30/2009 - 4:20pm Matt Damon!

In all seriousness, it's a shame, really-- hanging RR out to dry like that.

08/30/2009 - 3:46pm Unless I am mistaken, you have a phantom 20 hrs.

Magnus also did this math elsewhere, but to put it in the context of the quoted text:

Saturday + Sunday = 12 hrs
Monday = OFF
Tuesday = 3.5 hrs (i.e., "three to four hours")
Wednesday = 3.5 hrs
Thursday = 3.5 hrs
Friday = OFF (???-- not mentioned)
Freep Total = 22.5 hrs

USA Today average = 44.8, so we're 22.3 hours below the USA Today average. Not sure where the other 20 hrs you implied are coming from.

08/30/2009 - 3:16pm Clarification?

I thought the Freep article implied that "...21 - 24 hrs" meant we were somewhere between 1 - 4 hrs over the 20 hr maximum, which would put us 20 - 24 hrs below the national average reported by USA today.

08/30/2009 - 11:55am The NCAA has to draw the line somewhere...

...and I understand that. But my question is-- were the violations listed in the Freep article egregious enough to warrant current/former players running to the press? In my epinion, they weren't.

08/30/2009 - 11:13am That's what tripped me out--

Are football players really complaining about going 1 - 4 hours over?

I know that's only part of their argument, but come on-- it's not like they're working 80 hrs/week. I don't want to liken our fan base to that of an SEC team's, but I could see them being completely flabbergasted by this.

08/24/2009 - 10:18am If we're cooking up Disney characters...

...sign me up for The Beast-- he looks like he'd make a great buffalo wing (or Beast Wing).

08/23/2009 - 6:23pm It was anticlimactic, ...

...but I know my Star Wars brethren couldn't stand the wait for The Phantom Menace.

EDIT: Some folks have a hair trigger on the down arrow, so let me add that I'm not saying it sucked-- just that Jar Jar and the poor dialogue brought it down a bit.

08/23/2009 - 4:18pm Perhaps I shouldn't place so much faith in our coaching staff...

...but if they want to give reps to all three, I'm good with that. RR et al. are not in the business of making our QBs happy; they're doing what they think will help the team win.

08/22/2009 - 6:47pm Ditto

On the one hand, I kind of hope Weis gets canned. On the other: ND will probably- and perhaps through sheer chance alone- get this "coach search" thing right for a change, and I don't want Michigan locked into a 20-year contract against an Urban Meyer*-led squad.

*(or whoever the next super-coach is)
