I would have to disagree. The stats don't matter. Michigan plays to win. They vary their offensive gameplan to do what it needs to do against that specific competition. They don't play for fancy-stats. JJ is a much better QB this year than last year.

From my amateur viewpoint, I believe that missing Corum was the difference in the game. Neither the Philly Special, or the fumbled handoff to Mullings would have occurred if he were in the game... we would have simply run it up the gut. It also jumps off the screen how Michigan's Defensive line is superior this year. I'm feeling confident about this upcoming Rose Bowl. Go Blue!

That being said, there was an attitude being demonstrated by players and coaches that we just wanted to get out of the game unscathed and we would win on accident no matter what plays we called. Joel Klatt was saying they looked flat pre-game in warmups, and then Roman Wilson was taken out as a precautionary measure. Maryland refused to lay down and fought to the end though. This was basically the definition of a trap game.
I tried to watch a replay from a few years ago where we **shudders** completely ignored that Nico was on the team and only checked the ball down... it was bad.
I sometimes don't even watch the games live anymore because I'm pretty sure they're over 50% advertising. Hey have you ever heard of Bud Light or Allstate Insurance? They're amazing products! You'll be blown away!
TCU is basically the Sonic the Hedgehog version of Notre Dame. They'll get a few chunk plays but inevitably fail to consistently get in the end zone. Their defense will be unable to stop the run until they sell out and we hit a few over the top... which opens up the run again. Their season highlights are very impressive. They have some nasty juke moves and spins and fast receivers and a RB with moves... but at the end of the day Michigan is a vastly superior team and it's going to translate to the scoreboard. Michigan by 20.
The way it works is that as the opponent and difficulty level are ratcheted up, say to All-Madden, there is a higher probability the ball actually changes directions and snaps into or is sucked into the gravitational pull of the safety-the one that is helping over the top. BOOM!
Jesus man, I'm jumping from preseason expectations of probably losing to either Washington or Wisconsin, to we should have beaten MSU by 14 points if some bullshit didn't happen and be undefeated right now. I think we can beat these SEC teams if it comes down to it. Honestly, Alabama is the most beatable they've been in a decade and if you look at the SEC East standings lol... Georgia may not be all they're hyped up to be.
If the CFB Playoff Committee decides to place both Georgia and Alabama in the CFB Playoffs and avoid the rematch for next game... as I think they will do... If Michigan wins it all, and has to play them back to back, will be the hands down Champion, no questions asked.

I earned a promotion at work that I've been striving to get for two years and six interviews coming up short, and then Michigan beat Ohio State! Maybe it's the sponsor... well it could be, but probably not, could be all the hard work and determination!

The Media voted for a lot more "All Big Ten" Defensive players than the Coaches as it has included a lot more Honorable Mentions. So for instance in the Media Vote, Ohio State has the highest number of players, but 9/13 are honorable mentions... That leaves four 1st - 3rd Team Players. Michigan has 3/9 players listed as HMs... meaning that they have six 1st - 3rd Team Players.
It would also help if this is the year that OSU makes some dumb mistakes as well. Their road schedule this year has been: Minnesota, Rutgers, Indiana, and Nebraska. It's possible that cakewalk away schedule may actually prove beneficial for Michigan. While Nebraska can certainly get a little crazy, I'm hoping we can make some noise and possibly cause a little pre-play confusion while Macdonald messes with Stroud's keys. A crowd assisted drive-stalling false start or delay of game could be enough to turn the tide as well.
If we beat MSU, then they suck, and we still haven't played anyone good.
