Best way to defend Milroe…

Best way to defend Milroe would be to use a spy (Colson or Barrett) and have a disciplined pass rush. Essentially, Michigan needs to do what the 49ers did to Jalen Hurts. They didn't try to go after sacks and stayed in their lanes. They knew if they got push and collapsed the pocket enough Hurts takes his eyes off downfield and looks to run. I imagine Milroe is something similar to that. Michigan can not do stunts or take wide angles off the edge because those will create running lanes. If Milroe does roll outside of the pocket, Colson needs to be there for the tackle/sack.

For those that want to watch how the 49ers did it against Jalen Hurts, you can watch the full game here: https://nfl-video.com/san-francisco-49ers-vs-philadelphia-eagles-full-game-replay-2023-nfl-week-13

Like I said in the season

Like I said in the season review post, this season will depend on how far Beaubien can carry us.  Offense is inconsistent as it proved today.  So much pressure being put on Beaubien to be perfect.  There's maybe 2-3 really good hitters on the team (Canfield, Blanco, Uden).  After that it gets bleak.

I will say tonight, the strike zone was inconsistent for Beaubien vs MSU pitcher.

2nd pitcher

I like Tera Blanco as a hitter and 1st baseman, but not as a pitcher. She's done well against lower level competition, but against mid-level to top tier competition, she can't handle it. She lost to USF early on in the year and her latest outing vs Ohio State is very concerning. She hasn't developed much as a pitcher. I'd prefer Schaefer over Blanco honestly. In the end, the team will only go so far as much as Beaubien can carry them - provided the team can score runs. The inconsistent offense can be a potential problem in the tournament.

Side question: What happened to Leah Crockett? She was recruited as a pitcher but hasn't played this season.  Did she have some sort of injury that I missed?
