Yes we do, because the last 40 minutes is why this all matters so much to a lot of us. Sports for myself, and I think a lot of people, is how I have the relationship with my father that I do. That’s one of the reason it means so much to me.
The communal aspect of this place is amazing and special. It truly makes the experience of Michigan football so much better.
Just amazing!! Pure joy! This place makes it so much sweeter. Love this team!!! So happy for the team and for some many people here who make my fandom so much more enjoyable.
I am sorry to hear that it took things going poorly in your life to get you to realize you need to make some changes. Your personal health and well being is the most important thing. I am glad that you are focusing on that. I really hope that you can get to a place where you are happy with you.
For a person I have only met once and spoken to for just a few minutes, I feel like you have had a pretty positive impact on my life. I have learned a lot from your writing and analysis (both of football and many other things that have been mentioned that I may not have had any exposure to otherwise). You have an amazing writing style that you don't find very often in the sports world. This site is probably the first place I saw true intelligent breakdowns of sports that educated me on what I was seeing. So I would thank to thank you for that. For all the negativity that the internet can bring, this site is still a place I come to throughout the day and usually leave better for it (especially the great front page content).
What am I missing? Maryland went 2-3. Scored 3 points in one game and 11 in another. They had two good games, and one was against Minnesota (who as we know can’t be considered good because Michigan killed them). Why are people assuming Maryland will be an amazing team next year?
With the exception of one preseason event in NYC that Brian held, I do not know of having met anyone of this site. Yet I still feel very connected to it and the people who post here. Especially from hearing Brian, Seth and Ace on the podcasts, I kind of feel like a know them a little. It’s be a long hard year with a lot of loss. Coming to the site has been something that makes me still feel a little connected. The podcasts give me some good laughs and help with the realization that other parents of small kids are struggling too. I hope that you realize that you are helping others.
Does this mean they can’t recruit West Bloomfield now since they are hiring Bellamy? I thought there was a rule that if you hire a high school coach that school is restricted for a number of years
Question for you since you seem very knowledgeable, I hear about all the nfl guys ND has (Martin, Stanley, Nelson) but they were coached by Hiestand who is now in the NFL. Is Quinn their oline coach now held in high regard? I don’t know much about him
It’s funny to be that people claim Franklin is much better results wise than Harbaugh. Michigan murdered them at home twice, got smack there once and lost a tight game last year. Franklin won one big ten title on a tie breaker with the flukiest win against OSU. And recruiting has been pretty even
I agree that defensive recruiting has been bad, but you lose me when you freak out that they may not get Buddin (295) and act like it’s the worst thing ever, but then getting a guy 75ish spots behind him is pure garbage. You come on here a rip literally everything. If they get this commit, that is not the time to come with your ‘the sky is falling’ routine.
I did not say that you did. I was simpling pointing out that to a board who thinks you only focus on the negative, the timing of the post after a commitment from a player who isn’t a 4/5 Star feeds into that narrative.
I am fine with not having the consensus opinion. Everyone can think how they want. However, it is understandable that people view Bluey as a troll when this post goes up within an hour of a commit by a 2020 player rated (by 247 anyway) that is just outside the top 300.
As a life long fan of Michigan and a Jets season ticket holder, it was a true pleasure to watch him play. I remember how excited I was when the Jets drafted him.
Live on Long Island NY and everyone was Notre Dame fans. I didnt like the idea of rooting for them simply because we had Irish heritage (and enjoyed being contrarian). The Michigan-ND games were always on tv here in the 80's and so my Michigan fandom began then when I was 6. Grew to love the history and tradition, even more so after learning more about Bo and what he stood for.
Heaven for bid ESPN would do any research at all, no just go with speculation. ESPN should be embarrassed, bad mouthing a kid who is just hurt. It's borderline slander
They got the best possible team they could out of pot 2 in Dortmund since Atletico wasnt an option. And none of the teams in pot 4 are any threat to the big teams anyway.
9-4 is possible since NW and Iowa are basically toss up games and you never know what you are goingto get from 2 teams in a bowl game after 30 days off. The problem is that simply winning doesnt really gain any momentum. Clearly ending up 7-6 wouldn't help recruiting, but they seem to be doing ok on that front. More importantly they need to get some momentum from the offensive line. I think if you can get a few games where the young interior plays better and can get some confidence that the is more important than just winning in regards to next year. If you beat Iowa 6-3 and the o-line gets run over again, how does that help build momentum? It just shows you can beat other average teams. The only win that could build momentum would be OSU. That game with some big recruits for 2015 in attendance could have lasting effects.

Who at this point is calling him a savior? You sound like someone whose friend got fired and are a little salty about it.
