09/06/2009 - 3:22pm I expect

Donavan Warren to shadow Michael Floyd all day long. That means, if healthy, that Cissoko and company will have to contend with Tate. Our corners have the ability to play man against these receivers, whether they actually show up and do it is the question. IMO, the most important defensive players in this next game are Woolfork and Warren. If they play up to their capacity, we will win this game.

08/23/2009 - 8:15pm Denard will at least get

8-10 touches per game in some way. Rather it be as a QB, RB, or WR, he will get his touches. Book it.

08/15/2009 - 11:04am Nice work pulling in the

Nice work pulling in the Talbott Brothers. Hopefully they get into Braxton Miller's ear and persuade him a bit, even though he loves the Buckeyes.

08/13/2009 - 10:30am Agreed.

Its a Wolverine/Cane battle. He has family in Michigan which is a plus.

08/12/2009 - 12:42pm I believe it would be 4 RB's

but I could be mistaken. Drake will likely end up at slot, which leaves us with Clements, Hopkins, and White. I wonder if we would still lead for Demetrius Hart next year if Clements signs with us this year. Whatever the case may be, Eduardo is to good to pass up.

08/11/2009 - 3:04pm good call

+1 for you sir.

Intended as a reply to WolvinLA

08/07/2009 - 12:26pm Even though I despise him

Tim Tebow is a great example.

08/07/2009 - 10:21am I think if Turner

does not qualify, then Woolfork would slide back to CB and our safeties would be Williams and Vlad. Or Woolfork remains at safety and he slides down to nickel back when Williams/Vlad come on the field and replace him at safety. Either of these could work as long as Woolfork doen't seem overwhelmed if he has to move back and forth. Hopefully Woolfork is an intelligent football player who knows the responsibilities of the entire secondary.

08/05/2009 - 12:37pm +1

I hear that.

08/05/2009 - 11:42am His name is

Aramide Olaniyan and he is taking an official visit to Michigan

08/05/2009 - 10:03am +1

You are exactly right about the Sims recruitment.

08/04/2009 - 11:43am I would like to see him take

I would like to see him take over for Mouton in a couple years if he decides to commit to us instead of Duke. I think he plays SAM/WILL. Good, fast athlete with tremendous instincts and a very high football IQ. Lets get him!

08/04/2009 - 11:16am We would not downgrade

to Jeff Casteel. Greg Robinson has better credentials and a large amount of experience over Casteel. I think we are set with our coaching staff for a while. (Hopson will likely be the first to go)

08/04/2009 - 9:41am who do we have a legitimate shot with at LB?

Josh Furman, a S/LB hybrid, is the only one I can think of. Gloster seems like he is going to Stanford or WVU. Jeff Luc, Christian Jones, and Khari Fortt are longshots. Who else is left?

08/03/2009 - 9:10pm No I know

who Justice Hayes is. I did some research and found it was Greg Hayes, Arnett's teammate at Saginaw whom I was referring to. Thanks for the effort though. Arnett is the better prospect but Greg Hayes will probably get MAC offers. The article said Arnett and Jarvis Landry, a WR from LA, were by far the two most impressive WR's at the TENN camp and should be top 10 in the nation next year.

08/03/2009 - 8:28pm I've heard anywhere

between 22-25 recruits for this class. I have no idea how or why but if i had to put money on it, i would choose 23. If so that leaves us 7 spots.

My best guess at the remaining 7 commits:

DL/DB Terry n Terrence Talbott
DB Cullen Christian
P Will Hagerup
DB Tony Grimes
OL (Seantrel- hopefully but doubtful) or (Torrian Wilson)
LB/S either position but i want a LB/S hybrid like Josh Furman, Sean Parker, or CB Josh Shaw

EDIT Shariff Floyd would work too but we're on the outside looking in.

08/03/2009 - 8:08pm Hayes?

Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of Arnett's teammate at Saginaw named Hayes? I forgot his first name but heard he was a legitimate WR prospect? How many WR's do we take next year since we got 5-6 commits this year?

08/03/2009 - 6:31pm Demetrius Hart

will certainly help ease the pain if Clements and Gainer decide to go elsewhere. From the small amount of video I've seen, he looks like a 4 star talent that is an ideal fit in RR's offense. He also lists us as his leader with Colorado St. He went to school with Ricardo and his former QB is at Colorado St. Landing Hart and Arnette from Saginaw would be an excellent start to our 2011 class.

08/03/2009 - 5:10pm IMO

Van Bergen will slide over and take Graham's spot unless Roh/LaLota impress. RVB is relentless off the edge and has a great motor that could harass QB's the next couple of years.

Now this is my opinion and some people might disagree but, if Will Campbell has a good off-season AND/OR year, we might end up seeing some kind of combination of RVB, Martin, and WC on the field at the same time. I know it would kill our interior DL depth, but you have to put the best players out on the field. I think it would be useful against Wisconsin, Iowa, and teams that like to pound the ball. I realize there is a lot of value placed on speed in Gerg's defense, but we can address that with the other eight players. Just a thought, what do ya'll think?

08/02/2009 - 2:10pm Excellent

Now we need to put our best foot forward and lock up Brandon and Buck. This will also keep up RR's streak of signing high school teammates in a class, though we still have a shot with the Talbott boys.

08/02/2009 - 11:42am Dionte Allen

was also a CB from Michigan who eventually ended up at FSU.

07/30/2009 - 4:33pm IMO

Rush will choose UVA.

07/30/2009 - 4:26pm You are exactly

right about that. He would be a great fit in Gerg's defense. He is a smart, heady player that has a lot of speed for a LB. I really hope we keep pursuing him.

07/29/2009 - 10:00am Starting SS?

Are Mike Williams and Vlad competing for the starting SS spot?

07/26/2009 - 9:10am Prater did

drop Michigan and word on the street is Georgia might not take another RB in this year's class. They might wait and get two backs in next year's exceptionally deep RB class. We are still in it but I bet Clements stays in Florida as a Cane or Seminole.

07/26/2009 - 9:02am The Rivals

message board said Feagin got caught stealing FWIW.

07/18/2009 - 2:52pm 2006 should count but

1997 if it doesn't.

07/18/2009 - 10:19am First off,

he didn't list all the receivers in this class unless Jeremy Jackson switched positions. Secondly, why include Ricardo Miller in a sentence about WR's who might not end up at UM if Ricardo is definitely going to sign with us?

EDIT: Sorry, I just had the same concerns as Biakabatuka did below.

07/16/2009 - 2:26pm There's no need to worry about

Ricardo. He might take officials but a family doesn't move 20+ hours away for nothing.

07/13/2009 - 6:19pm It is a presumptuous statement

and maybe I shouldn't have used that. A strong chance he becomes a WR would've been more appropriate. Anyway, no harm here. I enjoy reading your opinions and clearly you have a good understanding of football, amongst other things. Keep up the good work (I check out your blog weekly).

07/13/2009 - 7:30am You're speaking pretty definitively

for someone who doesn't know me. I havent seen him play a game at WR but I did witness him lining up at WR and DB at the Friday Night Lights Camp in Gainesville last year. IMO he was far more impressive at wideout than corner. My cousin was being recruited by the Gators and I went down there last year and it was an impressive camp. I realize its hard to judge a camp from a game but you can still form an honest opinion.

07/12/2009 - 1:17pm Not so fast my friend.

Yes, I'm pulling a Lee Corso on you. If Denard switches positions b/c we have acceptable depth at QB, he will play slot a la Percy Harvin. He is special with the ball in his hands and RR wont let that go to waste. Its also easier for a QB to switch positions on offense as opposed to defense. There's too much of a learning curve.

07/10/2009 - 12:51pm Floyd is a beast!!

His conditioning is not in question a la Hankins. I think we currently sit at number four for him behind PSU, UNC, and BC. I actually think he ends up at BC with Malik Stokes but I hope I'm wrong and he follows JeRon. He is top five at his position and has tremendous upside. I desperately want him to go blue!

07/09/2009 - 7:38pm I detected it.

No need for the edit.

07/09/2009 - 7:30pm I hope so too.

IMO, Eduardo has the perfect skill set for our offense. Its us against Miami and FSU. From what I hear, Georgia is out b/c they just signed Malcome and look good for Mack Brown.

07/09/2009 - 7:27pm I concur.

I concur.

07/09/2009 - 6:30pm Nice

If he commits, is he the last RB we take? Do we shut down on Eduardo Clements and Brandon Gainer or go after them too?

07/08/2009 - 1:44pm Thats unfortunate

considering Miller is a physical freak with unheard of athletic ability. I think him and Braxton Miller will be Buckeyes. I hate O$U.

07/08/2009 - 12:16pm My order

would be Clements, White, then Gainer. All have special talents and skills but I think Clements and White would fit better in our spread attack than Gainer. I will take any of them though.

07/08/2009 - 9:43am One of the top ten

greatest athletes of all time.

07/08/2009 - 9:41am For sure

Let them play. No question about it.

07/06/2009 - 5:31pm Dont know if it counts

but Urlacher played a S/LB hybrid and also spent some time at WR/FB and kick returner while at New Mexico. Thats all i got off the top of my head.

07/03/2009 - 2:48pm He will be in the

Joe Alexander mold. Beilein made an Elite Eight or Sweet Sixteen with him.

07/01/2009 - 9:26am Secondary

I would love to finish the class with the following:

CB's
Cullen Christian
Rashad Knight/Dior Mathis/Tony Grimes (any two)

S
Josh Furman
Latwan Anderson

06/13/2009 - 3:44pm College ready?

Gholston's body might be college-ready but his technique still needs a lot of work. DG is in the same boat but both possess freakish athletic ability. It's going to be a great season and i can't wait.

06/07/2009 - 12:17pm Jerald Robinson

could easily be moved over to safety, what many recruiting analysts feel is his best position. I don't think it will happen but it depends on the rest of our class and which safeties/receivers we sign.

06/01/2009 - 5:56pm Pace

Pace will replace Molk at center in a few years. I love this pickup since we need interior guys.

06/01/2009 - 11:26am Its nice to see some of our

targets are moving on up in the rankings. It also looks like both of them will end up in maize and blue.

05/11/2009 - 12:18pm i agree

with the koger call. i picked a lineman (omameh) instead but koger was the other choice.

05/11/2009 - 10:20am Top 5 (in order)

1. Graham-Woodley reincarnated
2. Warren-bigger CB with good ball skills. he didnt show it last year b/c of injuries
3. Mesko-versatile punter
4. Martin-wont be a dynamic DT at the next level but he will get there
5. Omameh- this is my question mark but he is still very young and athletic for his size. he will get to the league IMO
