What, no U-M baseball thread? #23 M vs #11 OU (YTOU)
Top of 7th, Michigan up 5-2.
Go Blue!
and that's a shame . If the BTN was worth a damn it would be televised instead of these crap conference games that rely on rivalries from OTHER sports
actually ranked #13 and Oklahoma ranked #18.
Anyway, keep us posted on the final score.
There are more baseball rankings than just about any other sport, for some reason.
D1 Baseball: #13 Michigan, #18 Oklahoma
Baseball America: #23 Michigan, #11 Oklahoma
Collegiate Baseball: #25 Michigan, #14 Oklahoma
ESPN/USA Today: #21 Michigan, #14 Oklahoma
NCBWA: #18 Michigan, #10 Oklahoma
Perfect Game: unranked Michigan, #14 Oklahoma
Just wondering if there's a computer ranking that the selection committee holds as a gold standard during their process.
They have the RPI for baseball too.

Oklahoma is #16, Michigan is, and don't get me started on this, #39.
A couple of better computer ratings are Massey (http://masseyratings.com/cbase/ncaa-d1/ratings), which has Oklahoma #14 and Michigan #25, and ISR (http://www.boydsworld.com/baseball/isr/currentisr.html), which has Oklahoma #11 and Michigan #29. So the "good" computer ratings are pretty close to what the polls are saying.

Michigan gets the win while saving their top 2 relievers for tomorrow or Saturday. Oklahoma's #1 starter can't find the plate and is pulled in the first inning. Errorless ball in the field and great patience at the plate--Michigan was the more disciplined team out there today.
Oliver Jaskie pitched 7 innings, throwing 111 pitches, which isn't too bad--he gets an extra day of rest this upcoming week. Two more games in this series--tomorrow at 4:00 and Saturday at 2:00. A series win is pretty much required if Michigan wants to host a regional, and a sweep would put Michigan in the driver's seat for hosting.
Walk, fly out, fly out, walk, walk, walk, HBP, walk. And then another walk--to the dugout.
NCAA tourney hopes to win the series
