In light of Coach Mo's passing, this set of players for the next few days will highlight that era!

Let's check out the home opener from #39's senior year. Considering the matchup, it is probably worthy preparation for home openers in the not-too-distant future...

Thanks WH, and, as always, enjoy.

When the time for me to post yesterday came around, I ran into photo uploading issues yet again. Not sure if it was a quirk of the recent site updates — but it works now, so let's make up for it!

Yesterday there WERE...

...days until Burnie Legette (FB 1989-1992) watches his Wolverines face CSU to open their 143rd season in Ann Arbor.

#40 senior team under Gary Moeller had one goal in mind: "sing The Victors in Pasadena."

This is the game where that was realized...

Curt sure has a 'Yes Sir, May I have another' look on his face.  Henry Hill was my favorite #39, as he played middle guard at 220 pounds and became an All-American at the position (1970) after being a walk-on in 1968.  When I started back in school in 1975 (after taking a few years off), he inspired me to tell my boss that I was going to bulk up to 220 and walk on the team.  After I sobered up, I decided that would not be prudent.

Also have to love #40, as the two favorite Rons that I actually saw play wore that number - Ron Johnson and Ron Simpkins.  Both were studs.  Even I'm not old enough to have seen Ron Kramer wear the Maize and Blue...

Coach Mo in picture with his son - big ole smile of a proud papa!

I can just see the pre-picture set up with Mo saying "wait! where's my whistle? gotta have that around my neck so years from now people will know I was a coach!"
