Steve Wiltfong crystal balls in-state LB Lance Dixon to Penn State

Submitted by Bluey on

Harbaugh's in-state recruiting woes continue. Dixon is #252 in the composite but #72 overall in the 247 rankings. After missing on Willie Gay in 2017 and Otis Reese in 2018, Dixon would mark the third straight year UM has missed on their top Viper target if he does indeed commit to PSU. It would also mark the fourth top 5 player in MI to commit somewhere other than Ann Arbor. To make matters worse, his head coach at West Bloomfield is an alumnus and defensive coordinator is a UM fan, along with his dad. If someone told me this would be happening in year 4 of Harbaugh when he was hired, I would have laughed in their face.

Imagine being so obsessed with recruiting that the decisions of teenagers you have never met actually makes you upset. Hurts my brain.

Is our defense a problem? Why do we worry about it if they keep getting guys that fit and succeed in it, no matter there ranking? Just relax and move on.

I dunno man, I'm not sure that even Maizen is this much of a Debbie.

It's just a crystal ball.  It's not even a verbal commit, let alone a signing.  So the sky really isn't falling.  Freaking out about recruiting is stupid anyway.  If coach Harbaugh and the staff get their guys and coach them up and win games, who cares if they're from Michigan or if they're from some other state or country?  Nobody.  Who cares how many stars they had?  Nobody.

No, they haven't won B1G or national championships yet.  Key word being yet.  Let's see how they do this fall.

it's true that losing brown & dobbs stings at the area of our greatest need... but it just seems like there's this tendency to conflate not maximizing opportunities with failure.  we have a top-five class now, and it seems like many of the guys we have will be risers (barnhart, mcnamara).  it's valid to be disappointed somewhat as we could definitely use good players, but come on here.  if it's dumb to be happy with a top-5 class now because it's so early in the recruiting cycle, why does it make sense to be so negative about it?

Let's talk after the season. I feel like UMs stock will go up and PSUs Wii go down.

For the love of God. Stop feeding the troll. The only way to get rid of maizen is to not respond to him. Let him be miserable by himself.
