Pretty cool. That will be a trip of a lifetime for those kids. I’m proud
A player who sticks around will be going on 4-5 trips of a lifetime. Harbaugh should get credit for a great idea and Warde, and everyone involved, credit for pulling it off so well.
Such a beautiful country. I just got back from a return trip a couple weeks ago and miss it again.
Also, South Africa just played a beauty of a rugby match in New Zealand this morning. Looking good for the World Cup...Go Boks
The best thing we do for these athletes that put themselves on the line for our university. This is far more important than the results from a game on the fourth Saturday of November.
It brings me so much pride for my alma mater.
We humans are very complex yet what we need to nurture our well-being is simple-we need to be loved, we need to belong and we need to feel useful and contribute to the well-being of others. This is one of the higher purposes the interscholastic athletic endeavor teaches its participants...and what Michigan is doing here is most noteworthy. Here, Michigan football is knocking it out of the park.
I wish I could travel to 4 different countries on multiple continents in 4 years. Such a cool thing they’re doing, completely unmatched by any other college football program.
Go Blue!
Awesome video, what a great thing for these guys to be a part of - great to hear so many quotes from the players.
also Runyan looks bigger than last year? Perhaps Herbert & Co. are doing some good work. I believe Ira mentioned they’ll be talking with him on the AED podcast coming up soon. Interested to hear what this year is looking like as they get a second shot at developing some of these guys with offseason conditioning. All weight loss and gain is good!
Proud that M can go on these trips and No trouble of any kind.
I haven't watched it yet, but I certainly recall all the crap JH took for this on the first trip. All the talking heads could do was laugh and demeans the 'stupid' idea. After all, he should have been concentrating on beating someone, right? Even a lot of Michigan fans derided it!
Fast forward to the trip this year, and those same talking heads were saying what a great idea, and purpose, the trips are. How good they are for the student athlete.
The trips, the purpose, the results... Those haven't changed, but the attitudes of the media around them sure have.
I still don't understand why other universities haven't copied Jim's idea here.
Also, no other coach is advocating one free eligible transfer for Student Athletes?
Hmm.
That video was Powerful!
Whoever plans these trips should get kudos as well...having done trips overseas with 12-15 college students, it ain't easy, and these are planned to get the maximum experience in just a few days...
I have been to Capetown. The coast was beautiful. The people were very nice. Loved my time there. Glad Michigan did too!
Very nice.
