What a shame, he was a beast for DCD and I was looking forward to see him tear up the Big East.

tore it up at DCD. He was recruited based purely on potential. He didn't impressed me much when he played at DCD.

Not good news for our depth. Why oh why ANGRY SYRACUSE CENTER HATING GOD!
Rick Jackson is our starting power forward but could fill in at center, Riley was penciled in for competing for the starting center position. The starting center has been expected to be Fab Melo, a 7-foot, 270-lb. incoming freshman 5-star recruit. Now he'll likely be backed up by Baye Keita-Moussa, a 6'11", 210-lb. incoming freshman 4-star recruit.
This isn't good news for our depth or experience, but all is definitely not lost.

I love me some "Melo" no homo. Hopefully he can become a gigantic version of my boy. Melo+Kobe in Fantasy BBall and there is no way I am loosing on total points.

Sorry couldn't resist. :-)

Fab Melo will be a beast.
I didn't really like Riley last year. The biggest question is if Rick Jackson's hand of stone and fleshy patch where his nuts are supposed to be show any improvement.

Riley was lost in the tourney last year. It's too bad Arinze went down, it would have been a completely different result.

He was worried about getting outrebounded in the Legends Classic

I searched the board and couldn't find anything on this...regardless, still only an amusing/saddening ANGRY MICHIGAN HATING GOD fact.
Syracuse is currently 28th in the country for Points Against- letting up an average of 19. They're ranked 31 for Rushing Defense, allowing an average of 121.43 yards/game. Their Passing Defense is ranked 19th, allowing 180.14 yards/game. Who is the DC behind this stellar D? None other than a Mr. Scott Schaefer. Yes, that Scott Schaefer.
So...getting this straight:
Syracuse fires GERG for his poor performance...Michigan fires Schaefer for the same reasons...Michigan hires GERG and has a defense like a sieve...Syracuse hires Schaefer and they are ridiculously talented, holding the likes of WVU to 14 points.
And yes, before you ask, according to 'Cuse's depth chart from the WVU game, there are only 2 freshmen on the first string D (with 3 on the 2nd string/2nd half of the 2 deep).
And no, I am not screaming FIRE GERG or HIRE SCHAEFER (though I'm not a fan of GERG- mainly his inability to make half-time adjustments). Just thought I'd underline this mildly depressing statistic.

why Shafer was fired is coaches don't trust him and can't work with him. When you have coaches who does not trust or can't work with a DC, you have to pretty much let him go because you need a level of trust from the coaches on the staff.

So you're saying it's a trust issue...
/s
But seriously, where exactly did you see it was trust problems?
I thought it was the worst statistical D in years at M.

Defensive statistics was just an excuse to fire Shafer. Shafer didn't get along with the coaching staff so that's the primary reason why he was fired.

Riley was at one time a Georgetown verbal with a lot of potential. My neighbor's sister's friend told me that he was looking to start from day one and be a possible one and done player. He did not compete that well against current G'town freshman Henry Sims (who averages about 5 minutes per game over 2 yrs) at a recruiting trip and soon signed on with 'Cuse. If his work ethic matched up with his dreams, he could be great, but now that Melo is on campus, not sure how many minutes he will get at center.
Hopefully he heals well and continues progressing.

That sucks. Someone I know really hyped him up
