But seriously though, who is Plan B?

Submitted by DeBored on

Miles says "no" strangely, Mullen says no contact, no smoke around Mora, etc.  Meanwhile, Kawakami is adamant that Harbaugh is an NFL guy.  So who is our Plan B?  Is anyone else hoping that we at least get rejections from Patterson and Stoops to indicate that we at least TRIED?  If Harbaugh ends up not being the coach, who do we end up with?

And if it's Schiano I QUIT LIFE.

As far as Kawakami goes he is 49ers writer and is going to write would the 49ers want to believe/want to happen.  He isn't a reliable source at all

There is no Plan B. Harbaugh is coming here. I know I'm new here, and have no reason for you guys to believe me. But my sources tell me he is coming. Let's just say a former qb at Michigan =)

Can you tell us more about why/how your source would know?

I'm pretty long-time friends with a former QB who played with Miles and they were great friends. You would think my "source" would know about Miles except they haven't talked in a few years because, well, Miles has been busy. So he's got nothing.

It seems that all this shiano talk is completely out of everyones' ass. Can we drop that name. Also, agree w/ posters who feel no news is good ganews.   Either It's Happening or Hacket is running a tight and professional search

The good news I see is with all the speculation, that means the search team is keeping a good lid on the prime candidates. Although people prefer big names, a plan B doesn't need to be one to be successful.

Not difficult.

Who's names have you heard? Those are the people being vetted as plan-B candidates. Many of them have signed extensions and are off the table. Many of them haven't.

Still options:

Stoops

Wittingham

Miles (no matter what comes out of his head he would be here if offered) - he wont be offered.

Not a bad list of plan-B "fallback" options

it has always been Les Miles. I think if Harbaugh doesn't work out, in some quirky way, Les will be back here. I would love to have Stoops but that seems less likely...

of crap since Hoke was let go, but there are two things I refuse to believe right now: 1) that there is no plan B, and 2) that Les Miles is truly out of the picture.
