Red Wings and Drinking Open Thread

Well, the other one went well so hopefully this will continue our luck into the profesional hockey realm.  Red Wings are playing in Edmonton starting at 10:00 on FSN.  Jimmy Howard is out with a broken finger. Remember, in this game we want the red team to win and the blue team to lose.

Let's Go Red Wings!

Not a good start. Give up a bad breakaway that luckily doesn't score but it sets up a goal a bit down the line.  Canada is not treating us well so far.

hear hear!  I don't know what his deal is, he was decent last time the wings had him, but this year he's been shit.

Also, Sam Gagner has been possessed by some sort of hockey demon.  It's the only possible explination.  10 points now in the last three and a half periods.

That's actually a really good deal for a Wings game if you think about it. 4 tickets the dogs, and pops? Just the 4 hot dogs and 4 pops would be like $50 at our local minor league baseball teams games.

This is going to be a looooong night for the Wings.  Lets just hope that having Howard out for at least two weeks does not start a nasty streak for Detroit.

Oilers have scored four goals and we can't convert a two minute 5 on 3. This one has the potential to be a real nightmare...I thought we used up our "take the night off" game card vs. the Islanders.

Is done.  Babs should come our with Mac in the 2d.  No need to embarass Ty, but he is past being a NHL-quality goalie.  Yes, we have not played great in front of him, but he cannot let in a goal in the last 10 seconds of a period.  He can't back up Jimmy come playoffs, so time to get Mac some quality minutes.

Holmstrom sucks? I completely disagree. He does so much dirty work in front of the net for us. His contributions might not show up on the stat sheet. But believe me, I played hockey and the work he does in front of the net is important. He gets under the skin of the other team. Draws penalties. Screens the goalie. I can't believe you would say that...

Wow...you went there? I'm the beer league softball guy? First of all I would NEVER defend Brandon Inge. Second of all I wasn't going to say this but I was an All-State hockey player in HS, and I played club in college. You're like the guy who doesn't know what he's talking about and then puts someone else on blast for having a different opinion.

P.S. It's you're when you're trying to say you are.
