OT: Missed opportunity to question a D list celeb
My wife picked up tickets for Million Dollar Quartet last night on a whim, so we checked it out (currently at the Apollo Theater in Chicago).
We sat about 10 feet away from Tim Doyle. Consistent with my refusal to acknowledge C level celebs and below, and also because the show was awesome and I forgot Doyle was there, I missed an opportunity to ask Doyle if he's heartbroken at not being able to say the word "Butterfly" 500 times during every UM bball game.
Seriously, though, who could possibly be taking D-Mo's departure harder than Tim Doyle? I say no one.
Was he sporting that awesome mustache again that he grew back in February?
And I like "Metrics" for Evan. And yes, I d-voted myself, because the thread isn't all that important. But whatever, it's the offseason, I labeled it OT, and hell, it reminded me that no matter how bummed I am about Morris leaving, at least someone out there is feeling worse about it.
"Metrics" isn't Doyle's nickname for Smotrycz. It's the result of a comical newspaper spellcheck error.

Hopefully it becomes Evan Smotrycz's new nickname.
I met Paul O'Neill in the men's room of a Mexican restaurant. I was all, "Hey." You know, playing it cool. And then he was all "Hey."
My wife and I saw Million Dollar Quartet at the Apollo Theater last year! Great show. We ended up with "obstructed view" seats which were cheaper and the only seats that weren't in the last row (not that the last row is very far). Frankly, the view was fantastic. The railing would have obstructed your view if you were <10 years old or a midget (dwarf? little person?), but just fine for adults.
Chicagoans, if you haven't seen it, do. And OA, we were lucky on seats - not as crowded mid week, plus, it's been out for awhile. But agree, beyond the railing, most seats are really good - small, intimate theater.
Saw it a while back. The show's designed to make killer a killer.
