OT: Marty Turco rumor
This just came in from my insider source, and also from the blackhawks blog committed indians. I know that some people might get mad if i post the link to a rival fan page so ill just summarize it. The word is that the blackhawks have agreed to sign former UM and dallas stars goalie marty turco to a 1.5 million dollar deal. ONLY IF neimis arbitration hearing rewarded him with more than 2.5 million, which the hawks will not pay. He got 2.75, and the hawks only have 48 hours to respond following the hearing, so the final decision will be announced very shortly.

If we're going to have Red Wings threads all hockey season, you can suck it up and take whoever else wants to throw their fandom forward.

Post it when he actually signs then. Who gives a shit about a baseless rumor? I'M REALLY ANGRY ABOUT THIS.

Nothing like a couple the_big_house threads to bring a smile to my face before I retire for the night.
I couldn't find a more better picture for this reply

'On Antti Niemi...
The ruling today is maybe the most difficult number Bowman and company could have been handed. A week ago I was told any ruling between 2 and 3 would likely mean a trade. Over 3 they would walk.
With rumors abounding Marty Turco is ready to be signed for 1.5, does anyone in their right mind believe the Hawks shouldn't go the extra 1.25 to get a proven playoff performer, Cup winning, pressure goalie?'

Based on Turco's lack of success at the Joe against the Wings, I wouldn't mind this at all.
I know Niemi wants his cash, but there isn't really a market for goalies right now. If the Hawks let him go, where does he think he'll end up?
