OT - Help on Current Jersey Sizes

Submitted by thereverend on December 1st, 2023 at 12:40 PM

Please excuse the OT post, I am coveting insight from MGOusers' experience regarding the fit of the new customizable Jordan "Game" jerseys offered by MDEN. I scoured the posts on the board concerning jersey fit, and the most recent I could find goes back to the Adidas days. Where in the world is Wolverine Devotee when you need his input on things like these? Because it is a customizable jersey, returns are not accepted; I felt this thread might be justified due to the lack of proactive content concerning merch since the days of a certain exiled member.

My son is 17 years old, and requested a Corum jersey for Christmas. The sizing chart is somewhat vague, as it states "PLEASE NOTE: JERSEY SIZES ARE RUNNING SMALL." Are these jerseys clownishly oversized like the Adidas iterations or are they more of a “contemporary” fit? Thank you for your input.

Sure, but Nike is giving Michigan about $11,500,000.00 each year and has much more leverage to improve overseas working conditions (if they choose to) than I do as an individual consumer.

Saying "well, both are giving money to the same person" is a gross oversimplification of a nuanced issue.

I may actually be able to help on this. I bought a customized home jersey this year (Hutchinson, 97) and contacted them specifically to request stitched-in numbers and letters since Nike wasn't offering that version of the jersey anymore. Ran me an extra $80 I believe but completely worth it IMO, since I don't buy jerseys often at all and the quality difference between those and the standard numbers/letters is enormous. Since your kid is still growing it may not be worth it to you, but wanted to at least make you aware of the option.

I'm 5'11", 190 pounds, and a large fits me just about perfect. I tend to be between a M and an L in the average t-shirt. More of a contemporary fit, as you say, not nearly as baggy as the Adidas ones.

I can’t answer the sizing issue but I would buy a bigger size. He might still be growing and don’t want to outgrow the jersey quickly

Does he like shirts baggy or not? That is another question you have to ask yourself

I just got a Jordan, Corum jersey as an early Christmas present. I'm 5'10 180 pounds and I could of went with a medium instead of a large, only time I might of wish I went large is when the temps dropped and I wanted to wear the jeresy over a hoodie etc.

Order a size up from what he his normal shirt size it.  I wear a large in 95% of my shirts/hoodies.  Ordered a Large from MDen and it is a little snug.

The Jordan stuff runs a bit small. I am 6'1 just under 220 and normally wear a Large. I have an XL Jordan jersey that is a bit smaller than I like. I probably should have went XXL but that just seems huge compared to what I normally wear.

Go one size up and it should still fit fairly snug.

I just ordered a jj McCarthy jersey from thejerseylocker.com it took 20 days to get here from china. It was $80 after shipping. All numbers and emblems are stitched as well as name tag. The Jordan logo looks a little off, but I was looking at sainristils vlog and noticed there's looks a little lighter yellow as well. I'm really pleased with it for the price. The size is a loose fit I got a medium and I typically wear large t shirts and I'm happy with it. I'm 5' 10" 180lbs hope that helps

I brought my son's No. 2 Michigan Nike swoosh jersey, Charles Woodson model, back from hibernation for the Maryland game he got us tickets to see. It was purchased from MDen in downtown A2 during the 1997 magical season, and I took my son to see the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes.

While wearing it on gameday, he attracted more attention than anyone in our party of three. One Michigan fan shared a craft beer with him during Fox's Big Noon Kickoff rally. Then another UM fan talked his ear off all the way down from our upper deck seating to the stadium exit, all because, I believe, he was wearing No. 2.

Last weekend, when he made the return trip home to NC for Thanksgiving and The Game, I wore it. If you get a football jersey replica, it is designed to be worn over shoulder pads. That means it ought to fit almost any wearer, no matter age or size. Between Woodson and Corum, No. 2 is iconic. And your team usually wins.

When you get the right jersey, one size fits all for any Michigan occasion

Dang, where was a couple weeks ago! Pretty sure I just ordered a “game” JJ jersey that will be too small. Arriving today just in time for Indy.
