Really cool. I’m not much of a hockey guy, but do people practice that? It seems like a good skill to have. Is this the hockey equivalent of Zavier Simpson’s hook shot?

The way Legg did it fairly easy to do on its own in terms of picking the puck up. Pretty much any 8-9 year old hockey player can do it. Doing it while moving, at game speed, and scoring is quite a bit more difficult.
Flipping the puck up, catching it flat on your blade is much more difficult to do. Especially moving at game speed

In Legg's interviews since, he has said he practiced the move all the time. The only question was when would he use it in a game.

The puck looks like it flipped up onto his stick. Not the level of skill used by legg.
still great improvisation and stick work once that happened.

It’s actually more difficult to flip the puck up onto your stick (intentionally) than it is to pick up the puck the way Legg did. Flipping it up and catching it is the hard part. Picking it up off the ice isn’t hard at all.

Been there, done that.... (better BTW).
Mike Legg's goal was genius and unique.
All the rest are wanna be's.
Go Blue.

True, but it's certainly fun that announcers still automatically call it "The Michigan"

It wasn't as clean as Legg's but still fun to watch.

Weirdly I don't think I'd seen this done since Legg for like 20 years and now this is the third time in a month.

Didnt Jack Johnson do it in 05 or 06?
