OT Amazing triple play wins Michigan high school softball championship
Full disclosure, I graduated from Unionville High School before they consolidated with Sebewaing.
What the video doesn't show is that the ball hit off the pitcher's arm before the shortstop caught it.

I headed to Ann Arbor in 67, graduated in 71 and left the state. My mother and step-dad still lived in Unionville until they passed in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
My dad graduated in 79 and my mom in 80. My dad’s cousin, Larry, used to coach the softball team at the start of their dominance.

Mayville grad here. Crazy run of dominance by their softball program. Made it to semifinals in 13 of last 14 years. Pretty impressive for a small town public school.
What was all the excitement about? This was like Division Z. (/s, for all you literalists with no sense of humor.)
I watched that like 10 times. Simply amazing. Congratulations to those girls.

Amazing play... to have the presence of mind to pull that off with the pressure on. Great play. Tough, tough way to lose. To go from having 0 outs and a chance to - bam. Three outs and it’s over in a second. Ouch.

True, the young lady deserves the credit for making the play, but I also think it speaks to the coaching that she received that prepared her to make that play when it came up.
That was headed up the middle for at least one run. Probably would have cost them the game had that gone through. Three straight hits and still two on with no outs. They need to bronze that elbow.
