OT - 2017 Michigan Depth Chart for NCAA 14

Submitted by BossHawgzGoinHam on

I am trying to put together what our team is going to look like at the start of next year. Since we never get a depth chart posted from the coaches it's all mostly a best guess. I have a list of players at certain positions that are exactly that a best guess. Curious of any inside info or what positions people think some of these guys will play. I know it's only a video game but our team next year is going to see 1 hell of a drop off from this year’s! I know some of these kids might not actually sign with us but for right now I have them included. I also only have 69 roster spots on the game and was thinking about including Maurice Ways and maybe Sean Mckeon but I really like Eubanks to step up this season. I also have the Michigan defense set as a 4-2-5 so Jabrill can play on offense and special teams. I also think the 4-2-5 in the game better represents the way our defense plays in real life.

What's the usual range on the created rosters these days? Everyone here is bunched between 72-88 so I'm curious. I always had problems with how the games rated freshmen (underrated at the top, overrated everywhere else) and handled player progression (far too linear and aggressive) but I was a dynasty man before Xbox One killed my NCAA mojo. Still fondly remember the game year ('05?) where my awesome players would constantly start fights in nightclubs so I'd give them a pass and suspend the backup fullback for the season after he was late to a team meeting.

Some people like the freshman scale is and some don't. We used ours based on the game to try and stop all the 99 overall rated players in Dynasty bcuz the progression is terrible! How i rate my players is i use their original 247 rating and add points to em based on their stats. Some guys i give a few points of progression to so they can stay afloat on the roster. The 2017 roster is way different from last years. I will post last year's when i get on my laptop.

I know it has been said, but I miss this game so much.  My Xbox 360 died but I kept my copy of the game in case they made it backwards compatible with the Xbox One.

especially with Harbaugh's splendid player developing skills. For comparison, look at the player ratings from some of our mediocre past teams (NCAA 13, NCAA 10, and NCAA 09). Over half the starters on those teams would be second string or worse on the 2017 team despite the youth of the 2017 team.

I'll just ignore the multitudes of hours I spent watching games, reading Magnus, Coachbt, Space Coyote, Pro Football Focus, Upon Further Review, etc.

It's just "all opinion."

Uhh ok. Just because u watch football does not mean you can rate players. That would have our 2017 team around a 92 overall in what world is that possible? The hardest part about rating teams is throwing your feelings out the window. Hurst will probably get bumped up a little. We use a scale and all the teams have 2 follow that. If players dont make the all B1G scale or All American list they can only be rated so high. Harbaugh is a badass at coaching and can make a turd shine but its still a turd. We have a ton of talent but we have zero experience. I love Rashan but 20 some tackles and like 5 tfl's does not warrant a 90 overall. Me and u watch him play more than most people who are not Michigan fans. Again though if I rate him as a 90 with zero reason to do so the other editors will follow suit on their favorite team and b4 u know it Minnesota would be a 92 overall as well. Do I think Rashan is going to blow up this season hell ya. I also thought Lawrence Marshall was going to do the same for the past 2 as well as Mone but various things has kept that from happening. I realize at 1st glance it may seem shittt with their overalls but my guess is the team overall is around a 86 which sounds about right to me. You cannot rste with your heart or u become a homer and we cannot rate players because we think they are awesome. The only way 2 have consistency is like this. Ifnu played with this years Michigan team u would see how well I rate every player because they play true to life. Not sure if u have the game but if u do download the roster and let me know what u think.
