I find the snark about soccer to be so insipid. It’s the most popular sport in the world by a long distance. The game atmosphere for even this lower quality league final was insane. I’m a Sounders season ticket holder and the atmosphere for their home games far surpasses any American sport I’ve ever been to including during my time at UM when we actually fielded exciting teams in hockey and football.
It’s so easy to think you are being clever by saying soccer isn’t interesting, but at a certain point, if you can get outside of your own echo chamber, you’ll see the majority of the world disagrees. Maybe it’s you, not the sport.

Was at a Sounders game two years ago . Great atmosphere and I also enjoy people in the crowd are just generally kind people . I know that sounds weird but damn I’ve been to so many sporting events where there’s assholes all around and I would never take a family to it but this wasn’t one of them

Not close to the two best teams. But thanks to a single elimination playoff, you aren’t going to get them many times. LAFC v Atlanta would have been the two best teams.

Congrats to them. But this is why there shouldn’t be a playoff in league soccer. Why reward the best team at the moment instead of the team that kicked ass all season. Just have a traditional table.
