META - Deleted Threads but nothing in Mod Action Sticky

Submitted by Rickett88 on August 5th, 2020 at 1:24 PM

I know this is going to go off the deep end rapidly, but I was wondering why deleted threads aren’t being posted in the Mod Action Sticky each time.

The only example I can remember is the AA City Council that was just deleted and Ace left up this last one and locked it, but I know there has been more and aren’t posted there.

Are they supposed to be in the Mod Action Sticky each time? Or is it just a whatever goes now as you are removing more and more? Thanks in advance.

Another one was the thread describing what Dave Biddle reported on about the B1G Conference call, where Harbaugh allegedly called out Ryan Day for cheating.  It just disappeared...  I don't know if its in the Mod Action Sticky because I rarely ever look in that...

In the case of the site's writers, we're playing whack-a-mole while also trying to get actual work done. I do by best to note stuff in the mod action sticky but it's not going to be very time when all I have the room for is to quickly pull something and get back to writing. In this case, I pulled the first council results thread while in the midst of putting together the post that's on the front page and the other thread gave me a chance to lock it and have that stand in.

They are usually posted there, from my experience, unless the thread is just locked and left up, or in the occasional case where the Mod forgets or doesn't have time to post it there with an explanation. It's pretty rare that I've seen something disappear, wondered why, and haven't seen it on the mod action thread with an explanation

I've reported every thread I've deleted except one: a couple nights ago, the OP didn't post a clickable link and then proceeded to be an asshat towards those who criticized him, then doubled down towards a couple of good MGoUsers who didn't deserve his bullsh*t.  I pretty much said screw it and took down the thread without explanation.

And, for the most part, whenever I've banned an account, I have also included a brief note, quite often right there in the thread where they've gone off the rails.

When I did it in the past, there was some "below the bar" stuff too. Duplicate threads for less notable events, for example, did not get a post, particularly if I felt there was little danger of something being posted again.

Did I pull something and forget to mark it? It's possible. In addition to trying to do my day job (writing for, editing, directing the devs and selling all the ads for this site) I've been trying to print a magazine that previews a season that isn't going to happen and putting out the kindle edition of the same. I just submitted the kindle version this morning and the last sleeps I remember were 4 hours, 4.5 hours, 9 hours (3 of that in a chair), and 3.5 hours. My sitter canceled on us the last two weeks because my daughter had a fever for a few hours one day, and my wife can't get any more time off because she's the only person in her group left and has everyone's cases, so I am wrangling kids all day and then trying to work at night. Somewhere in this bleary haze I may have taken down a thread and opened the mod action sticky and then fallen asleep in a chair. Apologies.
