Hockey at ASU
The game is currently in the second intermission and M is winning 3-1. M's second goal of the night would have been disallowed if replay had been in place for the game but it's not for some reason. Anyway, here is a link for those interested in watching the 3rd period. It should be starting soon.

Also, if you have comcast in Michigan the Pac12 network is on 717.

I think that may have been the worst the Habs have gone down since the Roy debacle back in the 90s that ended up with him going to the Avs. Unless they literally had no goalies on the bench, leaving him in for 10 is unconscionable. Terrible coaching.

Price was in the tunnel warming up to go in after 6 goals and they never put him on.

We tried to get a few of the Yost cheers going, I think we finally had the goal chant down by #4.
Refs were calling everything on Michigan, a couple real ticky-tack incidental contacts getting called trips etc (but haven't been to college hockey in awhile so maybe they're calling everything that right?). Made for very little 5 on 5 hockey.
Michigan looked pretty sloppy. ASU's lone goal came on a 2 on 1 breakaway when a Michigan defender failed to corral a pass from deep in the offensive zone at the blue line and had it hop right over his stick to a rushing Sun Devil.
Michigan did get the offense more sorted out eventually and spent most of the 5 on 5 time in the 3rd on the offensive end. The shorty was a beauty.
Hopefully ASU hockey continues to improve and grow. The team itself certainly looked like they belonged, though obviously not quite at Michigan's level yet.
They really need a dedicated arena - the tiny ice rink they play on near campus is frequently sold out, but the Coyotes arena (where this was held) was way too big (and too far away) even with the upper bowl closed. I bet they could grow into a Yost sized place nicely though.

One might say that Michigan's current team isn't at Michigan's level yet.
But, yay, road win.

We improve throughout the year and that it sets up for solid years down the road.
