Fun 'fact' - unscientific Jabrill 100m dash
Peppers, in typical Peppers fashion, does not have a switch to go less than 100%. So I tried some unscientific timing to see what his runback clocked out to for that busted 2pt conversion.
- Picked up the ball at the 12.5 yard line, so 87.5 yards to run
- Three 'timings' of mine averaged to 8.76 seconds for those 87.5 yards
Equivalent 100m dash was 10.94 seconds. In pads. At the end of a game. Where he played 70+ snaps (per ESPN).
I'm looking forward to another seven games with him in the Maize and Blue!

so your estimate isn't that far off:

"Jabrill Peppers isn't just a prep football star, he's also quite a track athlete as well.

Thank you for sharing, it's fun. Another good comparison would be to look at times for the last 80m (=87.5 yards) of 100m races. Then both the runners and Peppers would have a head start but probably still be accelerating.
Only problem is I'm not sure how to easily estimate where the last 80m begins (i.e. when the runner has run 20m).

Usain Bolt - WR in 2009 (9.58) - split for the last 80m was 6.70
Usain Bolt - WR in 2008 (9.69) - split for the last 80m was 6.82
Asafa Powell - WR in 2005 (9.77) - split for the last 80m was 6.86
