ESPN 2016 All-American predictions
Apparently they think we'll have three All-Americans this year, tied for most. Seems crazy to me to be doing these this early, but hey...HARBAUGH!

A lot of faith being placed in Peppers with a position he technically hasn't even played a game in yet. Not saying he doesn't bring a ton to the positon, but I was somewhat surprised. I thought they would've just thrown three guys from Alabama on there and been done with it.
Color me the pessimist on this board, I probably deserve it, but I figured we'd have only two AA's on the list: Lewis and Butt. Hell, I could've even seen Lewis being left off in favor of Jalen Tabor because, you know, SEC.
But I could also see more than three at the end of the year. Rashan Gary could make Freshman All-American, Chris Wormley could make it, and hell, maybe even Chesson. Whether or not they make first team, maybe not, but the potential is there. I'd bet for 2017 we start seeing Mason Cole on some of these lists.
The thing about it is they really couldn't give us two. Lewis, Butt, and Peppers were all named to multiple All-American lists last year in some capacity (1st team or 2nd team). I think Butt and Lewis will be as advertised and if Peppers can stay healthy, he will blow up this year into a superstar.
The position he is moving to is a perfect fit for him. Attack, attack, cover on on 3rd and 8. That is a perfect role for him.
already played a defacto hybrid LB/S last year. He's already a LB. This year is basically official that he's a hybrid LB. Coaches found out that he's not a CB early on and simply move him closer to LOS where they can better utilize him.
One thing that stood out to me was how they noted that Lewis is poised for a "big jump." How? I mean, is it possible for him to be EVEN BETTER? Statistically speaking, he was one (if not) the best corners in the country. If he can improve upon that. Well...that's downright terrifying
I think they could be referencing Int's. Without that impressive number of takeaways, I think corners especially dont get the same hype.
could use a few more picks. The defense only generated 12 turnovers total last year.
Also, Lewis is a great cover guy and is almost always in good position but he does not seem to always have great awareness. Last year there were several completions(a few very frustrating ones by Burbridge) just by a hair because he did not turn around to see the ball fast enough.
This does not surprise me at all. All 3 made various AA teams last year. Peppers even made one.
I believe there is a 4th AA on the roster as well....
