Where St Bonny's is located isn't a very expensive area. There are expensive areas near there, but Oxnard is not an expensive place to live and is a good distance from most of "LA." It's not a huge SC feeder school, so if there was something shady going on, your think he'd be going to Serra or Alemany. Though St Bonny's is where Ricky Town plays.

I never understood why USC got all the top talent. USC is called "University of South Central" by most people in California because not only is it located in a bad area, the campus resembles the area, along with the coliseum stadium old and in bad shape. It has nothing on Michigan. Heck, USC has nothing on UCLA either in beautiful Pasadena! It has to be the "pay for play" and "expensive" handshakes from Hollywood stars. Then again, Snoop Dogg shows them a green time as well.

Everyone I know in Cali is trying to get the hell out (also Toyota, Nissan, Scwab, Chevron, Campbell Soup, plus more), and they manage to snag two of the best athletes out of Michigan.  SMH.

I was just having this conversation yesterday (I work in "beautiful" Santa Ana).  There are a lot of negatives for California (taxes, traffic, state budget mismanagement, house prices), but yet it doesn't seem like there is a net loss in population.  I've lived all over the US, and Socal is by far the best location.

Agreed. Those problems you site do keep CA from being as great as it can be, but it certainly isn't keeping more people from coming than are leaving. The taxes issue has caused businesses to leave though, and that's not good, as well as a ton of retirees (which are good for the economy - they don't take up jobs but spend money, sometimes in large amounts). That said, the pros are still outweighing the cons because they can't seem to build houses and apartment buildings fast enough.

Trying to get the hell out of California ? That's easy. Nearly everywhere else in the country is easier to live in and less competetive. It's expensive and crowded here for a reason ! NOBODY i know here wants to leave. They leave when they can't afford it or their job goes somewhere else and there's not one to replace it here. And for all that crap about companies leaving for tax breaks, the ones that stay are expanding so much there's still net gains in jobs. On the contrary, people are NOT fleeing the state. I just hope my son can get a good enough job to stay.

Only illegals staying ! My God TURN OFF RUSH LIMBAUGH !!! Unless you have lived here you have no idea. Yes we are very integrated here but we have drained the world of engineers, financiers, and other talented people. We don't care that much which country they come from if they can do the job.

Just keep hating us or move out here and join us ! The 8 years I stayed at Ann Arbor gave me a leg up on the rest of the competition and I used it to go west.
