We beat them last night. 1-1 isn't bad considering how bad we are this year in Hockey.
Lumping other sports together is a dangerous narrative, because each one is entirely different.
Hockey has a very bright future. A new coach WILL be coming in next season for hockey, we have great young talent and can recruit very well. We are also the greatest program in college hockey historically and statistically.
Men's Basketball is the exact opposite of all of that and there is no fix in sight.

This is assuming Warde isn't busy stuffing his face with cheetos and invites Red back once again.
Also, basketball takes one good class to be a second weekend caliber team.

Exactly, if there is any sport that is a quick fix it's basketball.

Uh....
Hockey HAS the talent RIGHT NOW. We're gonna be good next year. A down year here wasunavoidable due to losing basically the entire offense last year to NHL and graduation, having 11 freshmen and a former DIII assistant doing most of the coaching.
Basketball would likely have a bad transition class when changing coaches before we actually get some heavy hitters.

Giving Red another year was like Hoke getting year 5. Obviously you cannot compare the tenures of the two broadly speaking, but there was no excuse to give him this year under any circumstances. There is no "what about the replacement" argument either. We know who it is.

I agree with you. I think it's time for a change in the hockey program. Red is a legend but even legends stay on too long some times (i.e. Willie Mays).

I saw Sinatra twice in the early 90's. Considering he was almost 80 at the time he was doing pretty well (Tony Bennett's voice seems to have lasted quite well for someone who is 90 - although he didn't have the same lifestyle that Sinatra did). His Duets albums were pretty good but not nearly the voice he had in the 50's and 60's. Still... Sinatra.

A split is a pretty good result given where the team is.
Honestly, given the roster and the actual play on the ice, Michigan has overachieved with its record this year. No way we should have this many wins.
