CFB Risk Week 4 Recap: Screw OSU and Its Clone Army

As y'all know by now, CFB Risk had a bot invasion on Friday night. Some teams had their player numbers jump by hundreds, including OSU which nearly doubled its player base. In response, the Risk admins eliminated a bunch of fake accounts, installed Captcha protection, and rerolled the turn.
Amazingly, OSU still had several hundred new players for the reroll. I mean, just look at this chart...
Continuing with the Star Wars theme, let's give OSU's well-earned, newly recruited forces a decent name. How about...
Buckeye Clone Army
That sounds good. Really captures the size of its new forces while staying true to our theme.
Now then, the Clone Army had a very nice roll yesterday. It now controls 2 regions and has established OSU as the #1 threat in the game. And as Michigan fans, we will respond appropriately by f*cking their sh*t up.
Attack the Tri-State area, attack the Midwest, and attack the Mid-Atlantic. OSU must be prevented from a repeat victory, and we still have the numbers to overwhelm them.

every once in a while i stumble across an incredible gif that i must must must save for future use.
that i found this one in a thread category that i usually ignore (i don't dislike them, they are just Not For Me) is the possible sign of a benevolent god. i'm now questioning my entire existence. so thanks for that.

Ok, now this is a General I can get behind. Not that it's a big deal but it asked me to select a team again when I reverified I only had a few turns but it reset all of my stats and streaks. Ok maybe that's a big deal.

Did you log in under a different account? I initially logged in under my google ID and played for a few weeks before I realized I had a Reddit account from the previous Risk game. I logged in to that on my wife's device and she's now dropping bombs on worthless Buckeyes. It kept all my stats from the last game and she's at 3 stars a few rolls in.

Been researching it myself and think I know what happen. I signed up using my Google Account, and think what happen was Reddit gave me a generic user name, which was what CFR used, I changed it on Reddit. When I reverified it's now using my new username.

I don't think so. They just counted OSU's roll with all the bots.

They undid the roll, removed the bots (OSU still gained like 350 players which uhhh...), Then rerolled with everyone's same moves. The result is different from Friday roll because bot removal and rng, but it's similar because the player moves were unchanged.
Its confusing because the site was down for a long time and then the reroll happened shortly after the site went live again, so ppl didn't know it was redone.

I know that OSU is the greater threat, but I'm still driven by a (probably irrational) hatred of Wisconsin right now. They are just schilling for OSU.
Oh yeah, and I'm still pissed about the Newsome and McCaffrey hits.

so Boise had a crapload of Mich and Texas AM players and ONE texas player and somehow the one texas player won?
Thats some bizarre rng on any level....and really makes no sense....

Texas had a 1.99% chance of successfully taking Boise and pulled it off. Not quite a black swan type of event, but close. They must've sent John Rambo to that territory.
But at least Wisconsin wasn't able to hold it.

I'm pretty sure the game is hacked and compromised. I saw the results of the Friday roll before it was pulled, and OSU had gained a territory in Canada (Cariboo I think) where it had no contiguous territories. I guess I'll go over to 11 Warriors and ask how you can feel good about winning when you have to cheat to do so.
It seems there is enough evidence for all the remaining strong teams that have the appearance of playing by the rules to go after OSU.

They took Yukon before the roll was pulled, but there is a bridge all the way from Labrador. Hopefully we can defend it again tonight.

Is there an explanation for the increase in Michigan players is the early weeks? It looks bot like as well? Just asking.

I'm sure nobody has done actual digging into that, but it's reasonable to expect a fairly significant spike in the first 3-7 days of the game because that's just when people sign up. I know I didn't sign up on the first day.
Either way, OSU is just obviously hacked and should be banned/eliminated from the game. This has totally ruined the game for everyone else. My bet is the bots will play 100% of days b/c they're bots and build a big star advantage.

Are they going to reset any time soon? Roll is up in a few, and they're still showing old results and hundreds of bots in the leaderboard tally.

It will be interesting to see if OSU’s player ship plummets this roll. Showing they did still have a bunch of bots that couldn’t recaptcha.
I think early game it makes sense you can get those huge swings in players. At this point to have the largest player boost for any team in the whole game, over half way through, is really sus.

As expected fOSU participants down about 300 players or 50% of their trend size after additional verification put in place. All others teams had player counts in line with trend. They basically stole the prior turn.
