Both Projected Starting DE's for Wisconsin "Out Indefinitely"
Wisconsin defensive players, Garrett Rand and Isaiahh Loudermilk, the projected starting DEs for 2018, both are out indefinitely. Garrett Rand, “suffered an Achilles injury during summer workouts,” and could be out for the year. Isaiahh Loudermilk, “underwent knee surgery earlier this spring to address previous injuries,” and could possibly return sometime this season.

This happened to them before with their linebackers if I recall. Wiscy always seems to be able to plug and play another 3* into the lineup and weather the storm.
It also it also helps that they have one of the easiest schedules in all of college football.
...again.
It's much tougher than their schedule last year at least.
Absolutely true. I did read a couple of people comment when this came out who were legitimately concerned about their defensive line depth, though. You tend to rotate a lot more on the line than at linebackers, so even having guys who can technically slot in means you have to rotate in other guys down the line you may not want to.
Their incredibly easy schedule will help somewhat, but this is still a big loss for them.
Wisconsin has always had great line play on offense and defense. Their linebackers excelled in part due to the Dline controlling the line of scrimmage. This might hurt them a lot if both are out for an extended time. Open the door for Northwestern and Frosty.
Wisconsin hasn’t a player named “Loudermilk” ? That’s doesn’t even seem real. Was he obligated to play for Wisconsin with that name ?
I think Ohio State had an OL named Kirk Loudermilk some time within the last ten or so years, so I guess you are not required to play for WI with that name.
Dad played OL for Vikings
This tastes like the cow got into an onion patch.
Good job Napoleon!
If there is one team who could lose both ends and be ok it’s Wisconsin since they rely on the linebackers to make the plays. That said losing both would certainly put a weak spot in that defense.
They could lose anyone and still probably go 10-2 as their floor.
I admit they’ve got it pretty easy compared to being in the East, but the West is upping its game with Brohm and Frost.
Still Wisconsin’s division to lose but I wouldn’t automatically assume they’ll win ten games.
Meh Wisconsin
Damn they’ve had really bad luck with injuries the last few years, but they’re an extremely well-coached team so whoever jumps in will produce.
"Loudermilk" is such a Wisconsin name
I have an OSU friend. Mentioned this to him and said “it won’t affect OSU, though.” His reply? It will when we meet them in the conference title game.”
I hate OSU.
They still play in the junior varsity division so it probably won't matter much.
2 starters maybe out, and they have to play Michigan at Ann Arbor. Nice.
Always sad to see players injured and having to sit out; good thing is that it seems that they will be back
Go Blue.
