It was easy to like him.  A very nice guy and one of the best tight ends we ever had.  He was awesome in 2002.  I don't ever remember him dropping a pass.  I wish we had thrown to him more often.

Hopefully he recovers quickly.  32 is way too young to have a stroke.

Glad to see he is okay, but it's scary because he doesn't seem to have any idea why he may have had it.  Just have to pray it doesn't happen again, good luck Bennie.

A stroke can be a multitude of things. It'll be interesting to know the cause, but ultimately I hope it's not too debilitating. Although he's young, in some ways that means he should have a better chance at recovery with rehab.

One of the most underrated pass catchers in Michigan history. Thank God Minnesota's football program has been a shameful joke for most years since the 30's (aside from Glenn Mason.... nice job firing your only chance Minny) or ee never would have landed the guy. Wishing a speedy recovery Bennie.

a complex migraine.

Wishing him the best and the good news is they didn't find anything which means no heart or vascular problems and not MS.

Exactly.  Apparently, Bennie Joppru apparently goes to a crackpot doctor.  Either that or he is the first patient in recorded history to have a stroke that wiped out his entire sensory cortex on one side but spared his motor function

My wife is a nurse in a physical rehab facility, and she's had a 26 year old man in there who was wrecked. The nurses she worked with had a 17 year old kid who had a stroke a couple years back who was able to come mostly back but had very noticable facial droop. She has a patient now who had an infarction caused by a thrombosis in their arm.  Blood clots are freaky, man.

I'm wishing him the best, as I'm sure we all are. He is a friends relatives friend (admittedly weak) but I've seen and heard some stuff that cements him in my mind as a great guy. My first year at mich was 02 and I remember him having hands like superglue. He literally caught everything he touched.

"[Doctors] said it could be repetitive-injury related," he said. "They thought it was probably related to that same problem (ocular migraines). The final conclusion was sometimes this happens in healthy 30 year olds."

Hmmm...I hope this is the right conclusion, but considering how much football-related head injuries have been in focus lately (Seau, etc.), I wonder if this isn't worth a second look?

There was a report out a few months ago that some young people (20s, 30s) had given themselves strokes by pursuing yoga poses too aggressively.  Apparently that can strain veins/arteries in the neck and end up cause strokes.  Scary stuff.

that sucks man...  I remember he was one of the few rays of light on our offense during the early 2000s...  Hopefully he comes back strong. Godspeed Bennie
