Any worries on M. Robinson front?

And so this crap begins again, although I'm surprised it didn't originate from Scout. Michigan commit considering Canes Jim Martz CaneSport.com This defensive back committed to Michigan in the middle of April, so is there still a chance here for the Canes? Read on for what this standout prospect is saying is going on with his recruitment. Any reason for concern?

When these words come out of the mouth of a recent commitment, I'm not sure how you can say there's nothing to worry about. "I'm still going to check out other schools, so any of those schools could sneak into it. Miami's a school I'm definitely considering."

"I'm still going to check out other guys, so any of those guys could sneak into me. Dex is a guy I'm definitely considering." I'd say it's 50-50 at best that Robinson actually signs. Why in hell do these kids bother verballing?

That sounds a little too pessimistic to me, even with the rash of decommits from last year. Marvin Robinson has long been a heavy Michigan lean and has been recruited by Michigan for years. Of course, he COULD decommit, which would cause mass hysteria panic a la William Campbell, but projecting a 50-50 possibility seems a bit harsh.

Thanks for the response. I guess I should half-expect this from the premimum sites, especially after last year, where it seemed to be a weekly event where they questioned a commit.

The longer the time between the verbal and signing day, the greater the opportunity for other schools to work on a kid. Unless the NCAA enacts restrictions on early verbals, most schools will experience increasing numbers of decommits. No program is going to unilaterally decline to accept all early verbals, either, so the situation isn't likely to change. All the staff can do is to continue to recruit him. Winning more games in '09 would probably help, too.

Marvin's a Meeechigan Man! When this is coming from a Miami writer and given the insanity of his HS coach you're probably ging to hear more of this. Keep the faith!

You don't hear the whole conversation, as the end reader. There's things that are said by the interviewer to get certain answers. That writer is bias towards Miami, and wouldn't have a story if it didn't somehow have to do with Miami. He scripts that to get what he wants. Marvin did say that, but I would like to hear the questions that weren't included to get that.

I believe that Marvin is true blue but I wouldnt be surprised if he takes a few visits just for the hell of it. Look at it this way if you were 17-18 years old and all these big time programs were begging you to come to see their school wouldnt you be tempted to go check it out?? I mean I would love to go to Miami and see their campus and on top of that enjoy the party seen and enjoy getting laid by some random girl. Hell yeah sign me up for that and why your at it let me go check out Southern Cal I hear they got alot to offer out there too!

Even with the letter of intent signed (in triplicate and in blood), they may not be on the team in September for any number of reasons (grades, family problem, medical problem, legal problem).
