Lol.  Love this....

Let’s act like we care about everyone being “safe” when it comes to the game of football.... one of the most violent games in all of sports.  Let the kids play and coaches coach if they desire.  If you care THAT much about human safety, you are engaged in the wrong sport.

Exactly. Also, no one wants to acknowledge it, but ending the lockdowns has already set us on a path to kill 4 or 5000 kids a year beyond what would have happened if we kept the lockdowns going - because child mortality dropped a lot while everyone was bunkering thanks to driving less, etc. So yeah, the "I won't support anything that puts anyone's life at risk" act is not a good look.

That isn’t the point. One can have nothing to do with the team and not be a fan and yet get sick or even die as a consequence of spread of infection for a game that can be played a few months from now with, hopefully, significantly reduced risk

While I don’t wish illness or injury upon anyone, I believe an individual can do what he or she chooses as long as no one gets sick or injured as a consequence of another’s choices. Wearing a seatbelt in a car or a helmet while riding a motorcycle are examples of activities where one’s choices affect the individual. Drinking alcohol while driving exposes others to risk as do team sports.

I live in Ann Arbor and have failed to attend no more than  a handful of home football games over the last 20 years. We are in the middle of a fucking pandemic where 165,000 have already died.  A few months of deferred gratification doesn’t seem like a terribly great sacrifice to make.

“A few months”

Until what, a vaccine? Then it will all be better? Just stop.

How many people were furloughed in March for “just a few weeks” going on months now or not permanent? How about we “shut down for a few weeks to flatten the curve?” How’s that going? We know, we know..,”wash you hands...stay home...social distance...wear a mask...”

but YES, let’s postpone football “for a few months” (it will never happen then).

That’s just it, no impact on me. But a huge impact on others employed that touch the game. Thousands of people that rely on athletics financially.

“What’s the impact” of my company not advertising on tv for a “few months?” Ask the folks at Comcast laid off this week.
