2010 record speculation

Submitted by save_me_forcier on
Since we still have 37 days until kickoff I figure this would be a new way to burn some time. How does everyone think we will fare in 2010? Uconn... Win @ND.... Toss up Mass... Win BG... Win @Ind... Win MSU... Prob Win Iowa... Prob Win (@home) @PSU... Toss up Ill... Prob Win (@home) @Pur... Prob Win Wisc... Prob Win @OSU... Prob Loss Drinking the maize&blue kool-aid I think 10-2 is pretty reasonable for 2010. Anyone other thoughts? BTW, I know this is crazy speculative but I'm just trying to make these next 37 days go by faster.

Let's come back to this after at least seeing one game from this season. Many of the players are the same this year, but it's going to be a completely different team on the field. We've really got no idea of how this team is going to perform in '09, much less '10. Like you said though, pass the time any way you can... football season is closing in on us, slowly but surely!

that the GOP picks up 12 in the House. But wait, politics is verboten and in any case I have about as much faith in polling numbers from 15 months out as I do in predicting two freshman QBs and a mostly unproven defense in the coming year, let alone the next.

Vincent Smith does the rest. MSU... Win Mike Hart whispering little brother in my ear the night before. Iowa... Win (@home) Our first night game. Ill... Win (@home) No more Juice. Ron Zook's screwed now. @Pur... Win. Boiler up? More like I run trains. Wisc... Win New head coach, another mediocre, underachieving team. @OSU... WIN TP is good. But he ain't me. T fuckin Force.

We should all chastise save_me_forcier for asking us to speculate on a UM Football related topic... considering that is all any of us do ALL THE TIME. If you don't want to play someone's "speculation" game then don't... he had "2010 Speculation" in the title. I'm sure you were smart enough to figure out by the title if you wanted to ignore the issue... instead you chose to bitch. Nice. Anyway. I agree with your predictions. But here's hoping Juice and Benn go pro... then Illini are a 6-6 team in 2010 and we win easy at home. 10-2.

It had a descriptive title and two disclaimers. It's not like anyone was "Forced" to read it. Anyway, when the talent pool and offense are fully in place, and the defense is somewhat stable, it shouldn't really matter who they play except for PSU and their three true rivalry games. The rest should all be autowins. So, I am starting with eight autowins. Then, I am guessing that ND is in transition and sucks, and that MSU is trying to get back up after falling to earth in 2009. That should provide ten wins. I am also guessing that once RR shows Tressel he has his number, momentum in the rivalry will shift back to UM. That should happen this year, but will happen in 2010 if not 2009. Now, we're up to eleven wins. That leaves PSU, a spread team with a lot of talent, as the most likely loss. Since UM isn't "scheduled" to win it all until 2011, I think PSU will beat them. Put me in for 11-1, with undefeated PSU getting the "Big Ten berth" in the NC game, and UM getting the Rose Bowl as a consolation prize. By then, Dantonio should be lobbying for Tressel's job behind his back.

We will definitely go at least 9-3. @ND, @PSU, and @OSU will be tough, but they are winnable. Charlie Weis will get another year after ND rapes with their schedule and Clausen will be a senior. Penn State will miss Clark and Royster, but it will be in Happy Valley and they have amazing recruits coming in. OSU will be really good. TP might win the Heisman his junior year. Hopefully we won't lose 7 straight. I see us winning one of these but we might drop one easy one, so 9-3 or 10-2.

Tehran U. - Win ND - Win @ Mars U. - Toss up (Note, game may be played at neutral site if dome suffers further depressurization) Antarctic Tropical Tech - Loss (They are just killer this year)
