2010 Class - best ever?

Submitted by BleedingBlue on
So we're riding high today with the Big Will commitment. Looking forward, anyone think the 2010 class could be the best ever at UM? Miller and Jackson have committed and are awesome and outstanding kids off the field. Robinson sounds like a real possibility. Dior Mathis is talking Michigan. Gardner maybe at QB? Lo Wood from Cali at RB maybe? This rivals article gave me a stiffy with the amount of kids talking about Michigan. http://www.michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=895981

I know Miller, Jackson, and Marvin will all be there at the end. Lo Wood looks like he's headed Blue, but we said that about Russell Shephard as well. All n all, I'd rather we wait for this class to sign first before contemplating the greatneess of 2010.

Rivals article and was pretty excited but then again it's way too far ahead to get too excited. Here's to an improved 2009 Team (we hope) that can open more doors for the up and coming group!

yeah first we need to get results on the field. recruiting is great but as ND as showed us, it doesn't mean much unless we see results on the field. we need to be AT LEAST .500 next year. but still i think we need to shoot for 7-5, 8-4 to show that RR is legit and then the mega recruits will come.

Just thought I'd clue the nonsubscribed in: RB Corvin Lamb, a 5'10 180 lb FL back who ran a 4.52 at the combine(one of the fastest times. Teric Jones led all players with a legit 4.49 last year, remember) - says Michigan is his "dream school" and he's always liked Michigan. He's got offers from FSU AND UF. Not bad at all. Colin Porter is an OL from WA with very heavy interest in Michigan. He's got connections to MI and looks up to Schilling. He was at the Junior Combine. Michigan's future continues to look brighter.

Check back in like 2013. The 2005 and 2006 classes, that everyone trashes now, got rave reviews at the time. What Big Ten defense was going to be able to stop the freight train known as Kevin Grady?

a lot of classes had potential... including the dan oneill class where LC allegedly said they would have the best OL RC in M history... then OSU ended up w/ the best... getting all the OH kids, the tex and FL kids on the OL. the ROJO year, we were supposed to get him and the other DB from sagnasty that went to FSU. and nick perry, and barksdale leaving the state. taylor mayes was at one time listing M in the top 3. MSU has stepped up their in state recruiting and maybe making a dent in OH? IDK. i know we're looking good right now, but there's a long way to go and in most cases, recruiting takes a big hit 2 RCs from the bad year: 3-9 in 2008 == ??? in the 2010 RC. we'll see.

as far as Dior Mathis is concerned, he was apparently very close to committing to Miami, but wants to focus on school right now. So there's a lot of work to do there. I dont know how a Michigan kid like Mathis with offers from Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Michigan isnt rated higher, but there you have it.

I thought the 2010 players weren't even rated yet? Also, the guy is kind of small even with those offers, so they might not think he'll translate well as a pro, which for whatever reason means they'll lower his rank like they did with Boubacar (I thought he was good enough to warrant a 5-star).

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Get the 2009 class SIGNED first then we can start talking about 2010. With the way this class has been going, I cannot get excited about H.S. juniors "committing". That word has lost almost all of its meaning for me with 16-18 year old kids.

I have no idea what UM's 2010 class will look like. But if it's really shaping up to be that great, then it will be fun to watch you compete with ND's class of 2010. Ours looks like it's going to be ridiculous.

any good news is always great to hear. I was alittle miffed at how rivals interviewed some of the Michigan recruits. The manner and the body language along with the "why" did you pick Michigan question was very disturbing. It was like the player had to defend the fact that he selected Michigan. So when Big Will messed with the Rivals guy and said Michigan had been eliminated-for me, it was like stick that mic up your ass-that seems to be where your talking out of-and predicting where I'll go-good luck chump. This was at the cost of the Michigan faithful having strokes and puching holes in walls and driving off the road when this statement was made. With the news out that He Had enrolled early-hey, welcome to the show. So yes, I love Michigan Football and these are young men that have worked hard to get to this level of play. So when they are ready to claim that Michigan is their school of choice-only then will I get excited for the player.

As demonstrated this year by Weis he can take the most heralded of recruiting classes and develop them into average players who go 6-6 and beat a crap Hawaii team in a bowl game. So to sum it up I really don't care if you guys get a good class or not + Jimmah still has college football's closest resemblence to that guy from the "Oh No! Bitter Beer Face" commercials.
