This is basically how I live my life on Saturdays. My wife makes fun of me for my unbridled enthusiasm, then tells me to be quiet. Sigh.

I understand that it’s “just a game” and of course I can prioritize my life so that things of more significance are granted proper rank.

I'm the same way, I can't watch games with people like the author who "can prioritize their life." I'm looking for people with their priorities hopelessly skewed--like me.

The L.A. alumni club hosts game watch parties at a bar close enough to my home to walk. I went once and can never go back for reasons similar to this.

oh you're telling me! i live across the street from where the alumni club meets in seattle - but i can't stand to go there. i prefer the forgiving friendly confines of my condo.
