I want to thank Alex and David, as well as MGoBlog contributor I Bleed Maize N Blue, for their outstanding coverage of the college hockey season.  Alex's ability to put into words what I just saw is masterful reporting equal to the best in the business.  Go back and look at David's analysis to see how accurate his insights have been.  And when I'm on the road, IBMNB kept me informed up to the minute on how we were doing.

We are a fortunate fan base.  Not just because of back to back to back Frozen Four appearances.  Because we have some of the best coverage in the business.  It's been a great season.

Wouldn’t it have been great to have those games in Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids?  Neutral site but within two hour driving distance of three of the teams.  Capacity of around 12,000.  Downtown location with restaurants, bars and hotels.  Why can’t we have nice things?

Yeah, I'm biased (because it's only 20 minutes from me...), but I'd much rather have the Huntington Center in Toledo at half the distance from Ann Arbor than Van Andel in GR.

So they’ll probably put Michigan in Sioux Falls.

You joke, but since BGSU is the host instead of us, there's a legitimate chance that we won't get the Toledo regional. Unless we're one of the top couple seeds (where they do try to prioritize distance, within the constructs of their other seeding guidelines), it'll be a crapshoot whether we get it or not. And I'll be so pissed if we don't get it, since I've been advocating for them to bid Toledo each and every year...

The third period against MSU can just be put on a continuous loop.

The next game will be tough - but, I'll be cheering hard for our Maize & Blue.

I had totally forgotten that we were in the St. Louis regional in 2011. Some eerie similarities to this year, first and foremost that we faced the consensus top team in the country (UND in 2011, BC this year) as heavy underdogs in the Frozen Four. Would love a similar result in the semis, although I hope we go all the way this year (the refs really screwed us in 2011; we should have won in regulation)...
