Good Counsel RB Wes Brown offered
Landing 2011 CB Blake Countess was big for the Michigan staff, as it help them get a foot in the door at his school, Our Lady of Good Counsel, in Maryland.
Maryland natives on the board can tell you that this school puts out some serious talent, and this year is no different.
The name we've all heard lately is WR Stefon Diggs, who has a Michigan offer and is very interested. Today though, the staff also offered his teammate, RB Wes Brown. Brown is a good-sized back at 6"0, 195 pounds, and he's got offers from Boston College, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, Pitt, WVU, and Virginia Tech, so the kid is a talent.
Brown has been coveting a Michigan offer for some time, and now he's got it. Not only is offering Brown great, but he and Diggs would like to play together in college, so that helps with Diggs as well.
This was a big offer.
Wes Brown wearing #4 reminds me of Minor Rage.
I hope he commits and wears #35 for us on offense.
God I hope not!
No, England's Wes Browne...as a MCFC supporter I cannot tolerate any United players at Michigan.
...The first couple of times I was kidding, but I'm not so sure anymore. I'm thinking this staff is honestly following everything you say.
Worse things could happen
Wow, that guy looks pretty good, and big. He looks a lot bigger than the 190 he's listed at.
He looks to me like he has great patience and vision, to go along with good speed. I love that his default is set to find crease - cut back, instead of bounce outside - outrun slow HS defenders.
I heard that Stefon Diggs and Wes Brown are considered to be a package deal. I know worrying about package deals this early in the process is futile, but I hope this increases our chances at both.
That would be quite the package.
That's what she said.
4 star RB with a side of 5 star WR.
Sounds like a pretty good package to me.
I knew that Diggs was going to be a five star, but I had not heard about Brown. I'm happy to find out he is a highly rated kid.
tee-hee!
JC3 posted as much in my comments section last night (before GBW had a post on it), hence my previous post.
I should read your blog more often. Did you hear about Diggs saying that he wants to play in warm weather?
Indeed. It was in one of the articles I linked to.
Wheatley. He has that stand-up, power running style with speed that reminds me of TW. I hope this H.S. ends up being a pipeline because they have a lot of talent.
Oh, he fast!
and Mike Madaras (OL) and Ryan Watson (DE), Our Lady of Good Counsel has 4 players on the Rivals 250 watch list. Incredible. They have as many or more kids at that school alone as there are in 34 of the states this year.
And they had our man Blake Countess this year.
as noted in the first post. Good Counsel is a powerhouse insuburban DC.
that's an outlier
As for his running into it, goodness me.
