I kept thinking about his initial "5 hours to desribe the philosophy" comment, as if there was a huge time lapse between cuts.

And it made me laugh a bunch.

Barwis and Wellman is dumb.  They are both good at what they do.  I'm sure that is true with most S&C coaches at big name programs .

I just wonder, do they all sound like they are about to lose their voice?  Is that part of the job requirements?

hopefully the team will buy in and this will be the part of the program that we take for granted.

Barwis left the program in good shape I would think.  Wellman and Barwis' programs are different.  Wellman didn't get into the program (saying it would take 5 hours) that is good, I guess.   He certainly hasn't said anything about Barwis or his methods that I have seen (though Borges has said positive things about Denard's coaching.)  I would like to hear about the differences Wellman sees going forward and the state of the facilities in light of his methods.   Barwis came in talking up his theory big time.  Wellman is all about toughness and the kids.

I do think this is a big change for the players.  These are important months leading up to the spriing game.  Players were happy with Barwis AFAIK.  I am interested to see the player feedback this summer and fall (esp. from past S&C champions like Molk, Martin and Cox.)  When Denard said he was staying - he attributed most of his choice to his esprit de corps.  Barwis helped build that team spirit.  Forcier was working himself off the team at this time last year.  Wellman has work to do right now...for sure.

I would imagine the group workouts are temporary until Wellman gets to know the athletes better.  Molk and Roh don't have the same needs.  I'm thinking they won't be doing the exact same workouts throughout the Spring and Summer.  Hopefully we haven't seen the last of the team training runs through campus either.
