OT: Cali4uofm is going to be a Dad!

Submitted by GBOD79 on

I thought in keeping with the happiness of todays events (FuManBlue's resurgence), I would announce to complete strangers that my wife and I are expecting our first child in July. Any advice out there for a first time dad?

given the traction on those wicked Michigan shoes shown.  You know, like Anthony Carter did (See below).

Oh, and no tear away jerseys. Like ever. They may be small, but they're fast, wiggly little critters.....

Wow, congrats man.

This is just too much crazy good news in one day.

First Profit launches one of the most impressive campaigns i've ever seen, and the entire MGoCommunity responds in force to free FU.

Now, word of MGoBabies on the way.

Congrats to all expecting parents and everyone who is blessed  to have things to be thankful for.

I'm getting married in 8 days!!!!!! (not sure if those exclamation marks mean excitement or crazy last minute pulling of hair out, but i just wanted to share my "good" news too)

Man, today turned out to be great!!!!

My son is graduating high school this year...it goes by really fast...my advice would be no matter how tired you are, how tough your day at work was, etc, always say yes when your kid wants to talk, play a game, play catch, or whatever...cherish every moment!

And the excitement is just so hard to contain!

We did get a bad ass little UM  warm up suit like the players wear and it is the cutest, most bad ass thing your gonna see for a little guy. I cant wait to have him break it out next fall with me on game days!

SO EXCITED!!

I heard a general sentiment expressed by the non-athletes (coaches, AD, etc.) that I always think of when describing how much fun it is to be a dad.

You hear everyone talk about how great it is, how intense it is and how much it will change your life.  But you have no idea until you go through it.

That's it (being a dad and I guess winning a NT) in a nutshell.  Congrats, my man!

The horror stories about the pregnant wife . . . unfortunately true.  Don't expect to win an argument, especially during the 3rd trimester.

Congrats and good luck.  Being a father is the best.  There's no better way to spend your time.

My advice is to offer to take over baby duties on fall Saturday afternoons.  It helped to keep my heart rate and blood pressure down during games.  And gave my wife the time/sleep she needed for herself.

I have 7 little Wolverines on board.  Never a dull moment around here.

Congrats again.

As I sit here with my two kids, I just want you to know that you are in for the ride of your life! You will never form a stronger attachment. You will feel emotions that you've never felt before. You will be completely unprepared. You will be sleep deprived for years, and lose your autonomy. But nothing - not even Michigan winning a national championship - will hold a candle to it.
