Brandon is in Dallas Interviewing Miles AND someone else...
According to Sam Webb and Scout.com.
RT @23gene: Miles is not the only coach Brandon will be speaking with. I'm hearing that a coach from one of this years BCS bowls is a target
Edit: Someone asked for Flight Tracker:
Brandon has a house in Scottsdale which what shown in this magazine: http://is.gd/koP8J

When they looped our practice issues into what they did

June Jones has actually been really good...it isn't him but a pretty good coach.
January 9th, 2011 at 1:32 AM ^
That 30 for 30 was an amazing documentary. Very interesting stuff.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
I don't think anyone should read much--if anything--into the Dallas location. The AFCA coaches convention begins there tomorrow, so if Brandon is in Dallas he'll have the chance to meet with any number of coaches.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PATTERSON PLEASE PLEASE PATTERSON PLEASEE
subtle enough?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
I dont think it was emphatic enough...lol I really hope it was Patterson!
January 8th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
I really do like him. No nothing about what it takes to coach but like the way he handles his teams.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
maybe less yelling but good effort. Who would you like to see coach next for the Maize and Blue? Peterson?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
I was thinking Lane Kiffin ;)

Only if you promise me that Hell is going to freeze over.

What are you trying to say??? Get off the fence, will ya???
January 8th, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
Where did Sam report this? Twitter? Radio?

After "Miles is going to Michigan" turned into "didn't even talk to him" last time around, I really don't see Miles being a guy Brandon is going after. I have no problem if he's hired, but it seems like such an easy story to throw out there (seems so plausible) while at the same time none of the actual players on the Michigan end seem all that anxious to bring him on board.
Also, if he was the target, wouldn't this have already happened? I can't see the Cotton Bowl stopping Brandon from making contact and working on a deal. I also don't see Miles interviewing for the job along with other people unless he really wants to piss off LSU for no reason. This would either happen or it wouldn't without Miles having to print out copies of his resume.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^

Based on what? And who DO they seem anxious to bring on board? I haven't heard a thing out of any of the players lately.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
I doubt we'll hear anything until the actual announcement. Also the comments of LSU AD and the fact that published articles seem to all be about sources saying Miles would take the job if offered. Supposedly he would give LSU's AD 24 hour notice of an interview which also hasn't happened.
I think we'll all be in the dark until Brandon says, "Here's the coach." Of course that won't stop me from spending all day following the nonsense that precedes that announcement.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
Holy crap, this actually made me laugh out loud. You seriously thought "players on the Michigan end" meant players on the team? That's fantastic.

Bob Stoops?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:28 PM ^
We can dream, can't we?
January 9th, 2011 at 1:30 AM ^
That thought crossed my mind too.
Of all the coaches in BCS bowls:
- VT: Beamer - doubtful. He's old
- UConn - Edsall left for MD
- Stanford - :(
- Ark - Petrino - huge buyout
- OSU - Tresselll - Would be too fuckin weird, not gonna happen
- Wisc. - Bielema - do not want
- TCU - Patterson - Just signed the extension
- Oklahoma - Stoops
Leaving Oregon and Auburn.... Kelly and Chizik aren't going to explore other opportunities on the eve of an MNC game.
Out of all those, Stoops actually seems the most plausible at this point.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
Is this one of Sam's gut feelings?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
Gus Malzhan is currently a little busy in Phoenix so I doubt he is the in the mix, unless he goes there Tuesday.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
Interview via web conference...or maybe DB flexed some M muscle by scooping him up in a jet, fly him in for an interview, and fly him back.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
But, why would we wait to interview some people (Miles) until after their bowl games as to not offend anyone, and then turn around and interview someone 48 hours before a more important bowl?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
Maybe that varies per coach? JH probably wanted to be left alone to focus... Gus Malzahn, perhaps he's just viewing it as engaging in conversation... we're getting down to the wire, and perhaps he (a Coordinator, looking for the next gig) has less bargaining power than Harbaugh?
I don't know, just quick thoughts. If we're nabbing Malzahn, we can't afford to wait till Monday night/Tuesday morning to start talking to him.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:37 AM ^
That has to be code for a HC who runs a flexbone!
January 8th, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
Interviewing and not hiring Miles may put to death all the "why didn't we consider Miles" factions. Potentially genius, if he hires Patterson.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
I just hope the "not hiring" part comes true.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Finally, more rumors! Please, please, please.... when I wake up tomorrow morning, roll out of bed, and go to MGoBlog, please let there be a coach announced.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
then we can move forward.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Lets just hire Bob Stoops and call it a day. Kthx.

Joe Schadd just said live on ESPN radio Miles to Michigan.. (Posted on 1/8/11 at 9:42 p.m.) is pretty much done deal once they meet, and that Pellini is the front runner. Host asked why Pellini, who's doing great at Nebraska. Shadd said Pellini is not happy administration didn't break their neck to defend his childish immature actions against his qb and the officials in the A&M game.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:28 PM ^
Color me skeptical... wait is that an optiton?
January 9th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Chris Balas said the groundwork for a deal is already done.
They're close to making it official.

False. Please do not contribute to this board.

am ithe only one confused by this?

it's the bold letters. thats what is throwing me off too.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
Well it would be a little hard to read if it wasn't bold!!

You spelled Pelini and Schad wrong. In fact, you spelled Schad wrong in two different ways. Those are my top reasons for not believing anything you say.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
I laughed sooo hard at that. Yes, he did spell Schad wrong in two different ways. Can't be reliable.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:48 PM ^
Tiger Droppings crew are reporting Joe S. said Miles to MI is a done deal and that Pelini will be the main target to fill the LSU slot.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
chengelis
- bobwojnowski Regarding #Michigan football, it hasn't changed. If Michigan wants Les Miles, and doesn't low-ball him, he will come. Dream job.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
Pellini must be high if he thinks our blue hairs would be tolerant of his A&M style actions during one of our games.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
@schadjoe I'm hearing he will accept if/when offered the job.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:41 PM ^
sorry for posting in two spots, but the Tiger Droppings crew are reporting Joe S. said Miles to MI is a done deal and that Pelini will be the main target to fill the LSU slot.
Dominos will fall (no pun intended).
Will be interesting to see if Brian has another late night post tonight.
