Valero Alamo Bowl Open Thread

This kicker has mentally exploded since the ASU game.
December 29th, 2010 at 10:56 PM ^
I had a wandering eye and checked my dvr to see what games were on tomorrow, and when.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
Till the Armed Forces Bowl thread. (Sad I'm saying that and it's still the first half. Is it right to go into a mild malaise of depression because 3 straight bowl games have blown? It didn't help that of the last 4 I've lost the two big ones and won the meaningless ones. Damn you pick 6!!!)
December 29th, 2010 at 11:04 PM ^
How could you not?? I'm pumped for the Holiday Bowl. I took the Huskies with 34 confidence points. My logic: Nebraska used up all their points in their 56-21 beatdown in September. That strategy has never failed me.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:08 PM ^
The reason we should never play a team called the "Wolves".
December 29th, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
I thought OSU's (not that osu) only donor was T-Boone Pickens?
December 29th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
They have slim Pickin's? (No not that Slim Pickens)

Everyone ready for Dr. Lou's words of wisdom?
December 29th, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
Was the previous highlight, it might be good for some yuks.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:08 PM ^
For all the yelling Mike Stoops does at everyone else, someone should yell at him for letting the clock run out there and not taking a shot at the endzone.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:16 PM ^
Best thing I can think of is that he is a 40 year old man that is jealous of Mike Gundy.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
It was Blue Dragon last night...Blue Sox tonight...are you screening people for these late night Open threads with "Blue" in their name only? If so you're good job finding people with the right sensibilities. I'll be impressed if you find another "Blue X" for the Holiday Bowl tomorrow night. Then we can have 5 of us for that thread.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:19 PM ^
Not sure what is going on with that. Any other blues out there? We might have to recruit, but I'm scared that if we wait too long they will go to MLive.com and we lose another in-blog 4 star poster.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:22 PM ^
We should be ok. Just have to make sure he's the type of player that can succeed in an MGoBlog open thread style of play. That MLive style won't work here, this is the big leagues.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:28 PM ^
This new MGoBlog open thread style wouldn't work in other B1G blogs. We need TUFF threads that aren't flashy and will overpower any hard drive.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:35 PM ^
I have a feeling if we start messing with the thread style all the posters are going to switch from PCs to Macs. That kind of transition will take years to recover from.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:56 PM ^
He couldn't even film for Michael Bay, no more report from Iraq.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:23 PM ^
I'll be celebrating New Years Eve Eve at a Class of 2010 reunion. But count me in for the Armed Forces Bowl.
By the way, "Class of 2010 reunion" is a euphemistic way of saying a bunch of my friends are going to do our best to recreate second semester of senior year. The best 4 months of anyone's life. 5 days a week of going out.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:26 PM ^
New Year's Eve is 24 hours later, right? ;-)
December 29th, 2010 at 11:31 PM ^
A good power nap and we'll be ready to go for round 2!
December 29th, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
During the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:06 AM ^
If I was here during the Chick-Fil-A Bowl I think I would suffer a similar fate to my Blue Brother, FuManBlue. It's better for all involved that I'm not.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:47 PM ^
It's a comeback!!!! Arizona scores three! I totally thought Lou Holtz was still talking!
December 29th, 2010 at 11:51 PM ^
I kinda watched the Christmas Community. There's only so much Favre wristslapping coverage I can take. Sorry to hear I missed the Wildcats making their big move.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:51 PM ^
The Wildcats are coming back, you heard it from me first!
December 29th, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
Are you the ghost of BKFinest?
December 29th, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
We landed one. He may not be listed on a lot of blog recruiting magazines, but I feel he has real potential!
December 29th, 2010 at 11:57 PM ^
We aren't wracked with transfers.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:58 PM ^
Well that would mean they would have to sit out the next thread after that.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:56 PM ^
I would like to say sorry to the Arizona football players, coaches, and fans. I am deeply sorry that I jinxed the comeback. Once again I apologize to the University of Arizona
December 30th, 2010 at 12:09 AM ^
To make up for it you must repay the MGoPoints you gained by making that prediction. And sit out the next 5 bowl game open threads. But not the Gator Bowl thread, of course. Not because of preferential treatment or anything, but because of the MGoLaws that dictate this resolution.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:51 PM ^
I have Arizona +5, but even though they're down 13 and giving up big plays like its their job, I'm not worried in the least. They're better than 2:1 in TOP and as we all know thats the only way you win in football. I might as well spend this money right now. Who wants a drink? I'm buying
December 29th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
drafts, mixed drinks, or grain?
December 30th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
Whatever works for you.
Arizona is down 23 and has run five straight times up the gut. They are so taking this TOP. East money
Make it a double, my friend.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:03 AM ^
Wow. This is a definite mismatch. At least I got 32 points out of it. I have an idea how to fix a lot of these blowouts, playoffs.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:04 AM ^
The Sugar Bowl President would have a heart attack at the thought of compromising the integrity of the bowls.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
What if we call it the All-State Playoffs?
December 30th, 2010 at 12:03 AM ^
Ok lets try this. Arizona is getting ran out of the building, this is an absolute route. A few more minutes and this will be classified as murder in 12 different states.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:20 AM ^
Holy Shit. The guy that isn't usually Lou Holtz's babysitter just said this...maybe not in exact words, but I don't have a great short term memory:
"Rich Rod has his offense in place. The defense is horrible and something must be done about that. He should be kept in place. He is a proven coach that will bring success."
Wow. It woke me from the Alamo Bowl Coma I was in. Never heard a MSM media defend RR with such veracity!
Edit: Craig James said it. FWIW
December 30th, 2010 at 12:24 AM ^
Robert Smith also made some similar comments earlier today during the halftime show of one of the bowls, I think. Seems like the vitriol has definitely cooled off since the last couple weeks of the season, as I anticipated.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:32 AM ^
Let's see if they still sing the same tune if Michigan loses, or will join the chorus of the headhunters.
