OMG WOW WTF
So, Antonio Kinard just signed yesterday and like, WTF? For starters, he's not even rated! OMG. I mean, are we seriously just going to sign anyone? WTF. I personally cannot stand when RR just gives out scholarships. I mean, really, is he running a charity case here? Our scholarships aren't just any ordinary scholarship, they should only be given to the prospects who are 5 stars or in the rivals 100 as of today, March 15th. No question about it.
I am just fed up with RR and his recruiting tactics! Does he not have a subscription to rivals? Anyways, I am just so annoyed with RR and staff b/c of this that I felt compelled to share it with all my closest friends on mgoblog.
I think what he's saying is that recruiting a 5-star is like having a first round pick.
Recruiting a 4-star is like getting a 2nd to 4th rounder.
And so on down the line.
He's not saying that 5-stars will be first rounders. He's saying that 5-stars are more likely to be successful, just like 1st round NFL draft picks are more likely to be successful.
At least that's the way I interpreted his comment.
I was making an analogy. A 5 star high school kid is like a college kid taken at the top of the 1st round. They may not pan out at their respective next level, but they have more potential to succeed than those with lower ratings.
I was trying to give a perspective on recruiting rankings that people could relate to. Especially those who use the, they don't mean anything logic.
