Illinois Injury Report:

Player   Injury Status/Updated Notes
Jarred Fayson WR Leg Prob Sat - 11/3/10 Fayson is recovering from a leg injury but is expected to play Saturday against Michigan.
Jason Ford RB Ankle Prob Sat - 11/1/10 Ford missed last game against Purdue due to an ankle injury but has been upgraded to probable for Saturday's game against Michigan.
Steve Hull WR Ankle Prob Sat - 11/4/10 Hull missed last game against Purdue due to an ankle injury but expects to play Saturday against Michigan.
Russell Ellington LB Shoulder Ques Sat - 10/31/10 Ellington missed last game against Purdue due to a shoulder injury and remains questionable for Saturday's game against Michigan.
Corey Lewis OL Knee out for season - 9/3/10 Lewis will miss the entire 2010 season after tearing his ACL in a spring game.
Supo Sanni DB Achilles out for season - 9/1/10 Sanni will miss the entire 2010 season after rupturing his right Achilles tendon.

So there you go.  Let's talk Illinois. Illinois has a tough defense but their passing offense is one of the worst in the nation.  Now our defense can certainly make anyone look good, but our team has a tendency to rotate on/off games.  I think this game is at least competitive with Illinois winning 31-28 due to some missed opportunities on offense.

Thread rules: no talk about NCAA rulings, Rodriguez's job security, or who should replace GERG.

I would think that you would be fine at 8am.  I would start along Pauline and go in concentric circles through the side streets.  Just make sure that there isn't a single inch of your vehicle past a no parking sign or just barely jutting over into a driveway or fire hydrant.  99% of your car in a spot isn't good enough.  The residents in that area have complained a bunch and the police ticket people like mad.  I know from experience.

Also, should that not work out, parking around the stadium ranges from $20 in someone's front lawn if you're lucky to $40 at the golf course for tailgating.  You can also park in one of the parking structures along Main St. downtown for about $15-ish if you want to make the trek down from there.

you are meeting the coach prior to a game? either you are a big time recruit or you are talking about a different coach rod and players.  if its the former, may i tell you how bright the future looks and how a degree from michigan really opens doors for you.  if its the latter, who are you talking about?

I don't see this game being much different than recent games, but I think we'll have another sharp offensive effort and Denard leads us to a last second, nailbiting win: 38-35.

while our D will continue to give up some huge plays, I think we'll be more aggressive and force a turnover or 2.

200/200 game for denard, as he runs 25+ times again.

I could say that I see the defense getting it together and making some strides against a poor passing offense, I don't see it.  I think Illinois will probably have one of its biggest outputs of the year, both on the ground and through the air.  The one MUST if you are Michigan, we have to protect the endzone better than we have.  I think Illinois will move the ball pretty much as every other Big Ten team has, but we really need to get some red zone stops.  Take away one or god forbid two touchdowns and insert fieldgoals, and these games look entirely different going into the half.

On offense, I would begin this game trying to establish Denard as a passer.  If Illinois is at all allowing for, I would like to see some bubbles and other designed plays to the outside to soften up the interior of the defense to actually run the ball with our running backs, a novel concept I know.  At some point, Denard's running needs to be something in our back pocket that can be relied upon at opportune times as opposed to our first and second down play on every series.  I am not a "it won't work in the Big Ten," but I think that if Denard is asked to be the centerpeice of the offense as has been the case, teams will continue to clamp down in the red zone and we will continue to gain a lot of shiny yards that don't amount to much.

I think that the running game will be the main story in this game. Scheelhaase is certainly capable of going Justin Siller 2.0 on us, but perhaps all of the "rabbit chasing" our defense has done to catch Denard in practice will pay off? Maybe? Probably not. I see him and Leshoure putting up 100+ each tomorrow.

Also, I believe they will be able to limit our one-dimensional running attack. I see them out-gaining us by a fair margin in passing, rushing and total yards.

I'll be glued to the TV and I hope the outcome is better than expected.
