Yum Yum Yummy.

unsung heros at UM. The blocks he would lay down of people could make you actually feel *gulp* bad for an opposing player.

That is all.

on this defense was having two players named
Steell & Gold
Oh, and Woodson just returned a punt for a touchdown. Why don't I remember that from this game?

Well Steele is the superior asset, since Gold is a soft metal.

Don't forget Sword and Swett. (And the year before, there was also Irons.)

aren't I?

In case you forgot, again. :)

I think I black out shortly after each time I watch it, experiencing short term memory loss

1997 Michigan Wolverines National Champions. Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Champions. Good year!

That picture/moment is one of my fondest as a Wolverine fan. Back when we had safeties that knew what they were doing. Hopefully Cam Gordon puts us back on that path.

37-0 in Bloomington wasn't much of a thriller, but coming back against Tim Dwight's ridiculous special teams play and a 21-7 half time deficit with Steele's INT sealing the game was unforgettable.

oh, yeah, and the Rose Bowl. Third row from the top SE endzone corner. Not sure how I left that off the list. Scored tickets from my dad's friend in England who was friends with the Track Coach Emeritus (or some crazy title like that) at PSU. Had dinner with him in '99 I think, and the guy was 90 some years old and a riot.

I loved Chris Floyd's 19-yard dive the play after the Woodson crossing pattern catch. He took Michigan to the doorstep, then Anthony Thomas took it the last yard for six.
That had to be one of the hardest-hitting football games I had ever seen. To this day, my head hurts when I watch that game.

Don't forget David Boston's comments before the game...
"If our offense and defense are clicking, we should win by 2-3 touchdowns. We're going up there and upsetting them. I think we're better than Michigan."
"We're going to do to Michigan what they did to us last year."
"Antoine Winfield is as good as Woodson and certainly faster."
Nothing was sweeter than seeing the camera zoom in on that jackass right after Woodson's punt return. The expression on his face was priceless. And then right before halftime, the student section started taunting him by yelling, "Booooston, Boooston, Boooooston."

Boston on Woodson, before the game: "He ain't no Shawn Springs."
Woodson, after the game: "I was like a father chastising his son out there."

Is that Woodson quote legit?

"I was like a father out there, chastising his son for talking to the wrong people."
-- Former Michigan cornerback Charles Woodson on David Boston after Michigan's 20-14 victory in 1997

but David Boston was the first time I wlshed ill on an opposing player. I was 16 then, so I'd have liked to have thought I'd grown as a person, and then Jimmy Clausen happened.
